August 6, 2018 at 3:40 PM in reply to: Is there a way to mass update or ignore the lat/long coords of locations? #57131CiciKeymaster
I am confused by your customer saying he deleted an account or “location” and an auto synch added it back in, Umm ?? If you delete a location it is gone, it does not automatically “resynch” or re attach itself.
If you have Power add-on you can import remotely, is that what he means? And with premier they can schedule a geocode time ….
I really need your SLP Plugin Environment to answer properly, There is no way a location will automatically reappear in SLP with just WordPress synching so I am guessing you or they have some add-ons…or have a Multi site network ? with users, i,.e accounts,
The other information about importing properly is in the docs site links I provided.
CiciKeymasterOY! Now I am wondering if it is something that Google has changed with their MAp API…I would not doubt it!!! Will try to remember to keep this on the burner, the developer is travelling this week. Please let us know if anything changes
August 6, 2018 at 3:26 PM in reply to: Unable to reply to my previous post EXP results showing #57129CiciKeymasterDrat, I just got logged out too when trying to answer you. BB Press, I didn’t close the other subject. I cant reproduce your issue but here are a couple of suggestions.
1) Change your theme to a default WP theme.
‘
2) try a different gallery style or add css to duplicate what you had before
https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/selecting-and-customizing-your-style/Lance did find a different bug, so try this too…according to the developer:
“there is a bug in the experience JavaScript that makes it do weird stuff if the email style is set to something OTHER THAN popup email form.
Patch coming in EXP 4.9.19.”It will be another week or so before that update is released , he is travelling this week and will have limited connectivity.
CiciKeymasterWhat version of SLP were you installing? What are your PHP and other settings? Version of WP? Are you using Extended Data Manager (EDM) by any chance? It should not be a problem unless something went wrong during data migration.
None of the columns you are showing would create an index that is too large.
MariaDB is irrelevant. The developer responded “I’ve been using that in development for years.”
Have no idea what is causing the issue on your site. We have not had a problem like this reported. Did you use them to migrate your site? If so they should have created a full site back-up for you. Not sure what else to point you to for resolution.
CiciKeymasterOk, Lance did find some javascript issue with WP version 4.9.8 and EXp. His note said if the email style is set to something OTHER THAN popup email form some javascript introduces weird results.
He is fixing bug with next release. I do not know if it will fix zoom as well, I did report the issue.
CiciKeymasterHi again, I just went to your test site and checked zip code 80013 and return was
The Pooch Mobile Dog Washing Aurora South EastIs that what should ave been returned?
CiciKeymasterHi,
Do you have the Experience add-on installed and activated now? what you want to do is check off show locations but you also need to check off disable initial directory. This will show results ( locations ) only after the search.
See under Settings/Results
CiciKeymasterhi Paul
Using Janitor, I see my zoom is saved when I changed it and I do not have auto zoom (EXP add-on) activated and the setting did not seem to be reflected on my page. I am waiting to see if it is a cache issue or something else. When the developer has a chance he can take a look at it.
Did you change the zoom level recently? Or was it always set at 4?
CiciKeymasterHi Paul,
The words “immediately show locations is no longer the lingo in current SLP version. there is a check box to show locations or not.
But that would not effect your map.I have reported the zoom issue to the developer.
CiciKeymasterHi Boone,
Do you see the csv file in the media library? Check to see if your server is preventing the wp-cron.php from being triggered.
See the article in docs and let me know if that helpshttps://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/power-import-and-wpslp-4-9/
August 2, 2018 at 10:47 AM in reply to: Removing Sateliie and plan views from smartphone view #57090CiciKeymasterThe screenshot, I have never seen the word PLAN before in any of the results on my site, I do not know if you are using another plugin or some theme that is adding the word PLAN and SATTeLITTE. Neither of those show up on my sites using SLP.
Here is an example of one of our Premier customers site. https://www.rhinoag.com/find-a-dealer/I do not see the word PLAN or Satellite anywhere.
To use Geolocation as mentioned you need the power add-on or Premier and your site needs to be https…i.e SSL cert.
You are using the basic SLP Plugin,. You can purchase any or all the add-ons or the premier subscription or you can opt to switch to the Professional level MYSLP.
Here is a customer site using MYSLP/Professional level
See under the SLP WordPress Products.
CiciKeymasterGood question. Not that I am aware of. WordPress cron is not exact, it executes the next time a visitor comes to your site.
Are you a Premier subscriber?
If you are you can check the CRON scheduler function as part of premier
https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/viewing-wordpress-scheduled-events/
You would want to be careful about scheduling hourly imports if you are geocoding as well querying Google to geocode. they are charging Geocoding separately from just loading the mmaps.
August 2, 2018 at 10:23 AM in reply to: URGENT ! SLP Power not working with the latest version of SLP #57088CiciKeymasterYou need a Google API key. Answered you in an email.
When you post in forums you must post the plugin environment which will show us your versions and the site url.
So that sites do not crash we have added an extra field with the SLP base plugin where you can not only add your Google API browser key, but if you wish to add referrer restrictions you will also need a Google geocoding key.
Google was allowing sites to continue working with maps etc for a while after they announced the changes but as of July 16 they are shutting down these options. You must get a Google API key and add billing account . Option, you can switch over to MYSLP. As we have already experienced Google will be increasing prices but they are not giving anyone a “free pass” (see pricing estimates and use their free transition tool to see how your site may be effected). it may take a little bit of time for them to catch up with all the sites, especially international, but be sure they will catch up. (info provided also in a separate email to you) . We can only say that it is not the Power add-on, but your need of an API key.
Please refer to the documentation and news feed about this important news. If yuu tried manually updating the power add-on , instead of using the auto update please refer to the developers news post

August 1, 2018 at 3:50 PM in reply to: What version supports url parameters, and what are the parameters available #57081CiciKeymasterthe docs was posted over a year ago, therefore it was any version after 4.9.
You should update to current version 4.9.18 ditto with the add-ons, you can see the latest versions under support/versionsIn the docs site see:
This Page also has a Youtube video to show you how to use the various Premier url controls
CiciKeymasterSelect Hidden results under VIEW…I do not know what version of SLP you are using
Go to Settings/View
You will see a dropdown box Gallery style, go to that dropdpwn and see if you have the Hidden results layout available for you to select from. I have it on my site but I do not know if all the different CSS styles are available on newer versions. Some of the styles require one r more add-ons.
Alternatively you can write your own CSS that works best with your them if you have the experience add-on. Premier subscription provides even more and the developer might be able to add a gallery style for you if you are a Premier subscriber and if it does not require a lot if additional customization.
CiciKeymasterPower add-on contains the Location sensor (see docs).
Note:
You must have a secure site (https) for that feature to work with the Google API. For other browsers, such as Firefox, the user would need to “allow”
CiciKeymasterIf the second part of your question is about not loading the pegman or street view then that is Premier subscription. With premier subscription there are a lot more map and results layouts available as well as other features.
https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/hide-google-pegman-street-view/
CiciKeymasterI do not understand your second part of the question what plan view?.
You can change what type of map is displayed under the MAP settings but it is not going to change automatically depending on what type of device you are using. Just change it under Map settings and the site visitor would not be able to change it. I cannot see your attached image because it exceeds the size limits for posting in forum
Docs here
CiciKeymasterThe front end, i.e what your site visitor sees , you can change layouts or appearances with the experience add-on.
More info about the additional features are in docs here
August 1, 2018 at 1:04 PM in reply to: What version supports url parameters, and what are the parameters available #57071CiciKeymasterDo you have the Premier subscription id and plugin add-ons also on the staging site? That is a Premier feature so you need to have the Premier subscription id on both sites or it wont work.
CiciKeymasterWe cannot help you without additional information. We do not control Google API returning wrong guesses. Maps searches, Google does. refer to the documentation. Please see Posting guidelines, we cannot see your screenshot as it exceeds size limits.
if they are consistently seeing this problem with Google returning incorrect info you can try the “show address guess or some other enhanced additional features in our add-ons or other plans. Additionally they can try putting more info in the search box asking people to add more info, such as street address or zip and state or city…Google has a better chance of finding the search query with more info

CiciKeymasterHi Shaun,
Are you referring to the text and links under results that indicate “website” If so that was fixed with SLP 4.9.18. If you are referring to the back-end, you might want to refer to the News posts the developer wrote about the Manual vs auto updates process here.
is this your site?
https://gueriniusa.com/if so, you are receiving errors in the browser console that need to be addressed. It appears that there may be some other plug-ins or theme that are breaking There is also a no Google API key warnings on one of the pages.
If that isnt the site you are referring to, apologies, without your site url or additional information I can not help you troubleshoot. You can refer to the troubleshooting guide for additional suggestions.
CiciKeymasterI was just discussing this the other day with Lance and i could not recall who was having an issue with this in the past. he just discovered the problem recently and needs to notify WordPress about the bug.
Lance wrote an article about this, it has to do with manual updates and the order in which you are doing updates. He explains the issues in his news feed. I do not want to mis type his explanation , please click on the below link and advice on how to avoid the issue:
https://www.storelocatorplus.com/manually-updating-wordpress-plugins/
He also added a tutorial, but I noted the voice was missing. He will have to reshoot the tutorial
July 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM in reply to: Is there a way to mass update or ignore the lat/long coords of locations? #57034CiciKeymasterHi Jay,
1) I do not know why some lat long were invalid. Did that site have another plug-in importing at the time or were they all added manually? With that many locations it could have been anything and/or Google depending on when they added locations. Or if they transferred from another site and/or had a bad csv file with inaccurate zip codes or location addresses. BBad zip codes are more common with international (go figure since google is based in US and many other countries use only 4 numbers for postal codes) All latitude/longitude is added by Google API and although they can mess up at times, for the most part they would not have a lot of inaccurate, invalid locations. looking at the site and just viewing locations in Texas, it looks to me as if someone just copied and pasted, some locations are all caps for instance
2) He is talking about scheduled imports from a url, that is an option with power add-on but is he suggesting overnight because he thinks there will be less traffic to the site? . First, I hope you would have a full back up of their site and I would not do that on a live production site. It is advisable to only be experimenting and doing updates to environments on a staging site first. What if something went wrong in the middle of the update,i.e if they do not have a dedicated server or lose connectivity and only half were loaded. For the SLP plugin , no you would not need to restore from a back-up. But you are mentioning deleting all accounts? What do they mean by all accounts?
certainly some customers have done that in the past, but again, as mentioned do it on a staging or dev site and only after exporting all locations to a csv file.
P.S. I did notice one thing, may give you insight or not. I am guessing who ever set up the original site locations did it by importing from an excel file, did they ever have an add-on that did that? The reason i ask, if you search for 01886, which I know is the zip code for Westford MA, the results are returned correctly but they actually show the leading zero is dropped…the results are showing 1886. This is an improper formatting of a number and I used to see that a lot if converting an excel file to a csv file, it was converted as a number not text. So there is a good chance that there was some formatting issues that would have given back an invalid geocode or location

July 23, 2018 at 4:38 PM in reply to: Is there a way to mass update or ignore the lat/long coords of locations? #57023CiciKeymasterHi Jay
I visited the site, I typed in the word Atlanta and three locations were returned all in Atlanta. I typed in GA, three different locations appeared all in Georgia. I even tried incognito and it still returned correctly, and random zip codes seemed to return correctly.
If I type in nothing and just select find locations there are texas locations in results, assume you have your center map at or home default as texas?
If you do need to mass import to correct locations there are a couple of ways I would do it, but it requires the Power add-on.
You can export the SLP locations (as a csv file) then update the csv file, correct the lat/long or delete the locations that have the wrong lat long and let Goofle geocode them again.
You can then re-import. But be Careful, I would select to skip geocoding on the re-import or to Not duplicate or your API count towards geocoding will take a hit. (read the numerous news articles about Google APi , geocoding tools, and pricing )
Also note, when you export the csv file, you will see a column called sl_id. It is a specific number that is associated with the specific location entry in your database.
See docs site for more info.
