If you are running a Network Active Multisite through WP, you might want to wait for SLP 4.5.04 which is currently in pre release. If you have a development site, or have backed up your site, or have a staging site you can load SLP 4.5.04 Pre release (available under Downloads) and see how it behaves.
The Regular production SLP 4.5.03 did not have any update issues, other than what some people reported who were running SLP with add-ons on a Network Active Multisite. There are reports in the WP multisite forum of other plugins also having issues.
CiciKeymasterCould you please provide your plugin environment that would include your versions of both the base plugin and the ProPack versions and any other add-ons. (see posting guidelines)
The error messages are fairly self explanatory. If you exported to a csv file and then imported them , were any of the locations duplicates or do you have the same add-ons and fields on your staging site that you have on your live site?
Most likely your first row in your CSV file that was exported contains the sl_field names…therefore , when you import make sure to check off First row has data field names: There are check boxes and online docs in the back end
Skip First Line
Skip the first line of the import file.
First Line Has Field Name
Check this if the first line contains the field names. Text must match the approved field name list.

CiciKeymasterHi,
Are you saying that there is nowhere in your admin panel to change or add the search label verbiage? Or you want to change the label in to show up in the search form box itself? or you want to change it to be search by Name?
The screenshot you have I am not sure if that word is what you entered as a search .
See under SLP /EXPERIENCE/SEARCH/SEARCH LABEL
YOU CAN CHANGE what appears in front of the search form box with free plugin but not what would appear as a placeholder within the search form box. (Documentation)
If nothing is showing up in the admin panel in your back end it might need to be translated into your language via WP Translate or WPML
If you want additional options for changing the labels as a placeholder within the box search form itself that is a feature in either Experience or Enhanced search add-on.
If the first is the issue and if you switch to English does the search label in the back end appear?
This is how the back end looks for the Search label in English with my site. I added the words address/zipcode and how it appears on front end.

You must be logged in to view attached files.CiciKeymasterWe do not set the distances between two points. That is done through Google Maps API. You can check your locations LAT/LONG settings and see if Google API geocoded them correctly. What do you have for add-ons? What is your Plugin Environment? I could assist you with some suggestions if I knew what add-ons you might be using.. If you do have add-ons what versions? you Mixing Versions , is it e updated to the current version of SLP. See the Troubleshooting section
If you updated to WP 4.5.1 ; Use the debugger, your CSS or theme, may be breaking the SLP map, see the article HERE: and the WP articles.
A quick inspect of your site using Chrome developer tools:
FAILURE Failed to parse SourceMap: http://coldlineliving.it/wp-content/plugins/store-locator-le/css/above_all_01.css.map
So something, your theme? or another plug-in MAY USING OUTDATED jquery versions which will cause issues and break the map.
See the tutorial on debugging in Troubleshooting if you need additional help.
CiciKeymasterAs of SLP 4.5.04 , the Premier subscription will fix any issues with multi sites. I will send you an email about the network multi-site license,
CiciKeymasterThere are a few ways you can do this.
Most require the Experience add-on except for the center map at with a lower radius to search.
There are options that you can use with the Experience Add-on: discrete search, append the country behind the scenes to the results (add UK to the append section) another is to limit the radius with a center map at…and pick the center map at somewhere close to what the central point would be for all your locations. You can add it as a lat/long. Another way is to have a search label placeholder, description instructing the site visitor to enter more detail to the address.
The center map at can be used with the basic plugin, the other features such as discrete search and append is available with the Experience add-on which adds functionality such as” results “order by” , enhanced search..discrete search, and a Widgets add-on that has a search by city, country etc. drop down menus..additional labels (such as enter address, country city,country..free form text)
For more info on How SLP the search function works. Docs
The ultimate path would be to use Boundary locations and Google Influenced Guesses but those features are only available to Premier Subscribers. (Premier release details) The Boundary allows you to have the map be determined by only the locations you have in your locations manager. Google Influenced Guesses will come back with options of where Google thinks you mean (in your example it would show the town in Canada and the town in Scotland) and / or if it does not come back with the right town the customer is searching they know they need to add the country to their search.
CiciKeymasterYes unfortunately, you may need to do a fresh install, there have been many changes and WP is getting stricter as well with security regarding SSL, jquery structure etc. so be careful about using old themes or themes that are not compatible or not using the WP best practices. The SLP author wrote some important articles on the status of updates to WP 4.5.,
as well as the Malware attacks on WP some time ago.
Please also note that we have read recent development from Google Chrome stating that CHROME 50 will block non secure sites…they are trying to force everyone to be SSL certified (https)
Anyone who has a web site should to keep up to date. Any good plugins will keep current with the WP updates and securities and follow the WP best practices.
CiciKeymasterHi Kristin,
Store Locator Plus version 3.11.20 is no longer supported nor maintained. It was updated to version 4 back in 2013 with numerous posts about the upgrade before it was released. Here is the article about the update and conversion.
The Export function exists only as part of Pro Pack. Pro Pack export features became available in 4.2 I believe.
Pro Pack is currently being released as 4.5 and there is a 4.4.04 still available.
Here is some info under troubleshooting about mixing versions, as well as configuration settings.
Unfortunately the free version of the old SLP v 3 is not compatible with the ProPAck v 4. amd so you wont be able to get the functionality without upgrading the base plugin. You can try installing SLP 4 if you have the correct versions of PHP , WP etc…and then purchasing the newer ProPack add-on with the Export feature but without knowing your plugin environment or your domain and server configuration , I cannot be sure it will work for you, you would just have to try it.
If you decide to do that, please make sure you have a back-up of your site.
CiciKeymasterHi Toby,
I replied to your email. If you want to use Power on your development or staging site go under the General Admin Panel and change SLP Plugin Updates to pre release so you will see the pre releases versions available for updating. . The Power add-on will automatically disable ProPack, Directory builder and Pages if you have those installed. I currently have the latest Power pre release installed it is now at 4.5. alpha 007
Do not use the Power add-on with your Production (live) site as it is not fully tested and debugged.
I believe when you purchased that, the pre release may have been alpha 001 or 002, and I had the same issue. See my email about options if you wanted to sue the add-ons individually on a production site in the meantime.
Thanks for getting back to me and let us know via the email. I can refund you in the meantime
Thanks

Can I close this thread now?
CiciKeymasterHi Barbara,
Experience Addon (details) allows you to change the layout, as in what to include in the Map settings, results that are being displayed, order they are being displayed in etc. but if you are speaking of CSS I am not as experienced in CSS…but the plugin author has a good tutorial video about CSS and how to find the exact lines for your reference under the YouTube link below. Additional pages for your reference

CiciKeymasterRosie, Could you provide your Plugin Environment ( see Posting guidelines) , a screen shot is best and the site url,
if you have SLP turned off I cant see it at that web address…without that info I cant assist you….i.e. what versions are you on for everything?
Did you update to SLP 4.5.01 and ProPack 4.4.04?
April 28, 2016 at 4:31 PM in reply to: Different style/layout for desktop & mobile website visitors? #40751CiciKeymasterOh I see,
Yes, with caveats it can be different i.e. per page style with shortcodes
Scroll down on the page link above in that section of Documentation .
CiciKeymasterPlease update to 4.5.01 Our apologies, something slipped by us on 4.5, not sure if it was with WP 4.5.1 or SLP but the update seems to have helped fix others.
Please let us know after you update if it is fixed.
thanks
CiciKeymaster@
Elizabeth
Could you provide your plugin Environment when posting in the forums? (See Posting guidelines)It helps us assist you.
Make sure you have the current version of SLP. The Javascript issues in reply to the above post are on the front end , i.e what visitors to your site search, it doesn’t effect the back end or UI where you add locations to my knowledge. Make sure you have number of locations per page display on UI set to a reasonable number that your server can handle.
CiciKeymasterThank you all for your patience, Lance contacted as many people as possible about the fix. Update to 4.5.1 I had a family emergency and was not able to reply to all earlier.
We will post a blog about it if anyone missed the patch news.
CiciKeymasterHas this been answered for you? ProPAck will export most of the locations data into a csv file.
CiciKeymasterI Do Not know, you can use a developer tool and find it I am sure.
April 26, 2016 at 6:13 PM in reply to: Different style/layout for desktop & mobile website visitors? #40684CiciKeymasterThere are examples of styles here.
You might also want to look at the demo site or the customer screen shots to see the various styles that work best for responsive design.
CiciKeymasterI do not know how better to explain it to you, I think ti is quite clear.. You can research and write your own plugin add-on if you are savvy about jquery and coding. As in any business we cant add every feature anyone could possibly want for free or this Plugin would no longer be active. There are many abandoned plugins out there because “free” doesn’t feed or provide for the support needed to maintain plugins. . If you are a web designer, business owner, developer or coder I am sure you can appreciate this and I am sure you do not work for free. I have no other information for you. You have the free version I assume. It is what it is as it :shipped” no frills and does what it is supposed to do.
CiciKeymasterYes, go into the results layout and delete the directions line (shortcode).
CiciKeymasterI see many locations on your site, all in France. If some are not geocoding correctly it could be the address or Google map domain cannot find them.
Are you getting any error message that shows inactive geocode, or some other error messages?
Are you seeing all the locations under your location manager but they are just not appearing as markers?
Are your other plugins using the current jquery versions? Without a screenshot I cannot tell what version of WP you are using, but they now require Themes and plugins to use 1.11 or higher, they are using jquery 1.12.

CiciKeymasterHi Kristin
Which content are you trying to move? Do you have ProPack? If you are trying to export all the locations you need ProPack to export. If you could provide your plugin environment I would be able to assist you better and let you know what can be done. Guide FAQ
Make sure you back up your current site if anything goes awry.
CiciKeymasterI believe I answered you…if you want to try the Enhanced Results Legacy add-on for $60 you can do that, just be aware that it will not be updated to any newer versions than what it already is at 4.3.02….To be fair, the developer needs to sell add-ons since this isn’t a hobby. If you are adept at writing your own jquery code you can try to hack it but I cant attest to how the plugin will work afterwards. It is open source, no secrets, but I am not a coder so couldn’t advise you…you can search in the documentation and see what you can find.
It is available to you for free to research.
