No problem, it is an interesting concept, like a Yelp approach. Not sure if there are other plugins that could be used in conjunction with the SLP or Power add-on. I will mention it to the devloper at some point to see if there is a work around or a way to build it

Under the cesar site you are still showing the warnings which will become  errors soon as soon as google catches up with all the sites using the MAPS javascript APIS. No more freebies

    .
ALso it appears there is another plugin or theme also using the Google API. The message that says sensor not required is not coming from SLP and usually indicates to us that another plugin or the theme also has google MAPS built into the core somewhere:

jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:4 [Deprecation] Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user’s experience. For more help, check https://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/.

There is a fix for the zoom issue that is coming out in Power 4.9.19, this will be avilable within the next couple of days, check your Plugin for auto update or check the versions available next time you log into your WP site

    Sorry Shaun,
I thought I answered you, apparently I did not submit. Power version 4.9.19 will fix the zoom issue hopefully, i just tested it on my site after another customer told us zoom was not working correctly. just make sure you have location sensor turned on after you update.
You are a Premier user so should be posting in Premier forum, that helps us with our answers, knowing you have certain settings available to you that others may not.

. As far as the Google API. That is the way it always worked but mots people did not realize it until they had to transition and add a billing account. Google is coming down hard as they said they would for past few months.

I did not see any errors under your console so you have the right google API libraries enabled now.

Good to know. If you feel the support was useful could you leave me a fiver in the WPSLP directory here?

It will put me in the good graces of the developer . I am not a coder or developer so there have been a lot of trial and errors on my end.

What version of jquery are you being forced to use?  WP requires 1.12 min for some time now. And even that is too low according to the developers posting in the WP support forums.

You are taking over an old site that someone else built and that is not an easy task. I think the child theme on that site must have been using outdated jquery or maybe had some customization.  There should  never be a situation when you have to use outdated jquery to get functionality back.  That theme developer needs to update or perhaps you can convince your client  to use a different theme if the orig. developer is not responsive or if it has been orphaned.

    Javascript best practices

If your client needs CSS functionality specifically for WPSLP, you should have them buy Experience add-on.  If they need categories, import, export, , they need Power add-on.  The best value would  be the Premier subscription if they are going to want to manage the WPSLP themselves  (they would be responsible for their own API key and also the updates) or better yet IMO   swap over to MYSLP.

Documentation home page shows the info for the two side by side.

MYSLP does not have the SEO Pages functionality that is available with the power add-on but your customer wasnt using that add-on anyway from what I saw..

With MYSLP, it is simply embed some script on the page and the locator updates are managed by SLP (and the Google API  is under MYSLP no need to worry about them)  It is a subscription base service . If  they need categories , special layouts,  or have a lot of locations they would need the Professional level plan.  It works with WP but also with Squarespave, Weebly, etc.

Oh good, I was going to say the developer primarily works in Safarai, and I primarily test my settings with Chrome or Firefox and sometimes IE. The developer has a test suite that he can test against all browsers using browser stack when there is a major update. This was not a major update . he has a new version of SLP coming out as well. he said it didn’t have any effect on the Power zoom. Check the versions auto updates later , I have asked him when he will publish, the version will be .19 I think he will publish later today if no other issues are found during my testing

It also looks like on the original site you had proPack as well..the old site with new version of SLP will n0t work you must delete Propack. That is a legacy add-on. You have append child errors on your original site, so  I am guessing that you have a child theme and perhaps it is trying to build using the CSS  template that used to be part of ProPack (?) but ProPack will not work with SLP version 4.9.xx and Power add-on does not contain  CSS options.

Do you have the WPdebug on in the test site?  by inspecting it using a regular ol inspect site tool from the front end it appears to be on, or was on when I looked.  But I do see under  the AJAX headers for the  option map type./..nothing is set there.   It should show roadmap or satellite, or whichever you set in SLP under MAP settings.  If you cannot change it or if you do not see it  You can download Janitor for free and see what all the settings are.

If you do you might want to use janitor to rest the options, something did not carry over correctly to your test site.

Visit the Google server key post in docs that should help you get the right Google API key if that is an issue, but I looked at your test . with wordFence, make sure it is not blocking communication between SLP and Google browser

    Paul,
The developer has Power in beta version. If you have a test site to try it on I can send you the zip file, or you can wait until it is published.

I tested it and it seems to fix the zoom issue.

I tested it on my test site and I concur. I have contacted the developer to tell him about the issue. I am wondering if it has anything to do with the way the location sensor is coded now to accomodate the people who do not have https (secure) sites. I do know he wrote some script to accommodate for those users. Hopefully there will be less and less sites that are http instead of https.

Thanks again for all your help

Got it, I have it on the developers radar. It will help him narrow down what may have changed. The zoom level isnt normally associated with Power, it is a function of the base SLP so that is good info. Thank you

Have you established a billing account with Google? Did you set up query limits? This ius a question for google support I believe.

Your screenshot from Google explains what to do about query limits, follow the link and adjust your account accordingly.

We have no control over the Google geocoding API limits or your billing account.
Someone on your end must have set limits to the Google billing account as it applies to Google query at some point in time.

See the various support articles and process in the google developers console

    https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/geocoding/usage-and-billing

they say”””Requests per Day (QPD) limits have ended, effective June 11, 2018
    For Existing Customers:

If you are an existing customer (using the Google Maps Platform before June 11, 2018), you were billed under the previous pay-as-you-go pricing until July 16, 2018.
Note: Starting on June 11, 2018, Google began to roll out the removal of the default QPD limits on existing billing accounts. This process may take up to six weeks.
If you rely on the default QPD limits to help you manage your cost of use, we recommend you set your own daily limits in the Google Cloud Platform Console, to override the default QPD limits set by Google. This will ensure that your preferred QPD limits remain in place.”

If you follow the links in the MAPS API platform I found this info to be helpful:6, 2018. For more information, check out the Guide for Existing Users.
    Geocoding API Usage and Billing
    Pricing and Billing Changes
was billed under the previous pricing model.
For more information on what has changed, review the API-specific Billing Changes and the guide to understanding billing.

something broke javascript, most likely a theme or another plugin.   You can deactivate all and only use WP theme on a staging site to see which one is broken.  You can also use a tool such as the debug WP.

Here is some troubleshooting guidance and suggestions.

Did you update your add-ons lately?

Please provide your Versions and Plugin environment. It is difficult to assist without seeing which versions you are on (see posting guideline

Those type of messages usually indicate you updated manually and there was a glitch, perhaps you did not deactivae and delete if you manually updated?

See the authors post here about updates and how to update correctly.

Which versions of the Plugin and add-ons are you using? The Power add-on, which version are you using?

Which plugin style are are you using?

Now if they want something fancier to show up instead of No locations when the zip code and 10 miles is selected, may I suggest the premier subscription (we can generate a coupon to offset the sign up fee if you write to support  since you bought the power add-on within past 30 days )

Then you can use either zipcode Auto complete, or  Show google auto guess or Cluster map markers or all of the above ….there are a lot of functions and features that provides as many work arounds as possible. You can also change layouts easily with Experience add-on or premier subscription.

There are a ton of cool features that would satisfy your client with premier.

I have included a screen shot, Now if I change the radius to drop down to search 10 miles it comes back with no locations found. I do not know what is around that zip in PA or what is in your database or what all your settings are to see if it is correct , but SLP is working correctly from what my search on your site is showing for results

When I go to your url and I search 17074, all the locations that are within the radius you have set by default show up. The first three the zip begins with “170” if you do not have any locations in the back end in your data base that have a zip code of 17074 they wont show up. . On my site I have no locations that are in that zip so my default message of try a new location or (oh no Mr Bill there are no locations near you) is displayed…unless I change the search radius. I am not sure what your customers complaint is if you do not have a location with that zip code. ??

I have looked at your site and am trying to determine if your  theme oceanwp is overriding the zoom setting or if  the location sensor detection that is now auto shut off by SLP if you do not have https  could effect how the map is displayed.  or if it is because you do not have the Experience add-on and changes were made  via the Google interface on how the zoom performs.  I will have to look back at the changelogs with the developer.

You do not have the “Do NOT autozoom” function nor the disable initial directory since you do not have the experience add-on .  There are settings in that add-on that  effects the way the map displays ,

I did have that EXP add-on activated  so to roll it back and to change settings to get the same results  as you is making it difficult to recreate your issues but I do see it on your site.

I Apologize I do not have a solution for you at the moment.  I have raised the query to the developer to see if he can shed any light on it.
