Under Settings/Search/in the box search layout
See attached screenshot , in the back end you should familiarize your self with all the different fields and settings, or look under view to see if there is a pre-built layout (assume you are using a test site or staging site) hover over the sections of the fields, most have a link to the right that will lead to documentation.

Preferred method is using the forums so others can benefit from the answers., We ask that you provide your plugin info each time as well since we do not always know what versions or add-ons people are using. Ignore the rest you do not need them
Then when you go to your WordPress install just add it the way you would any other plugin . The only other thing you need to do to get the additional features is add your user id and subscription under general

CiciKeymasterYes you can change anything including color with CSS if the View/Plugin style does not have what you want.
The developer also wrote an article about the way WordPress has made it easier to do it right there. That way you do not need to save the CSS every time you update the plugin.

There are a few different Layout styles under Settings/View Gallery styles that have been built for premier customers as well.

It may be something to do with your them, or a WP update since a lot of themes did updates when WP changed and added CSS in the basic files. or perhaps the Experience update or Power update or premier update patched something that effected that…dunno but glad it is fixed

The add-ons ( Power and Experience) for WordPress Store locator plus are NOT subscriptions so you will not be charged again for those.
You buy them you own them
PREMIER is a subscription that includes the add-ons but also includes customized solutions and functionality and additional features that were customized for specifc clients who requested additional features and then included in the Premier subscription for all Premier users..
I do not know if you are confusing the WPSLP stand alone DIY plugin with the MYSLP Saas (Software as a service) platform that can run on multiple platforms not just WordPress, and that is not a product but a service. (?) MySLP is a software as as service and as such is a monthly subscription with different level plans based on features, number of locations and map views, that is maintained by the MYSLP server and which also obtains and maintains the Google APIs it uses a simple embed script.

it would make no sense for a the premier subscription to be sold for less then the price of the two add-ons. I believe the support answered your email. Not sure what you need now, but what you are trying to do, by adding tags, was a suggestion because as mentioned the functionality you requested was not a built in feature and to have it customized would cost more than the suggested Premier subscription. Premier has additional features such as category selectors, cluster map markers url controls phone ext delimiter, to name a few. I do not know the business model of your client or what features and functionality might optimize your site.
If you need customization that would require a Premier subscription first, a review by the developer to see if your project fits into scope and schedule and the developer retainer (Cyber Sprocket).

CiciKeymasterWe reviewed the email you sent to contact us and provided some suggestions. In the future if you could provide the Plugin environment (i.e what add-ons etc you have a screenshot of the INFO tab for just SLP) that would assist us in not sending you down a rabbit hole. Apparently you already have a premier subscription which included experience add-on.
To not have any results appear if text is not entered in the search box field ( your site visitor opts to not add any information for their search) and then clicks find locations, the results as determined by your other settings will appear . Other customers have added instructional labels in the search box, or hidden the search address box altogether and opted for drop down menus or category selector options or using directory option

You would need to have the* Experience add-on. ‘Under Settings/Results/Disable initial directory would need to be checked off.
Under Results Panel in documentation:
There is a screenshot of where this is checked off (with experience add-on)
Do Not show the results immediately until after a search has been performed. The setting is labeled “Disable Initial directory”.
*There are additional settings such as discrete search, changing layouts and appearances etc with the Experience add-on.

CiciKeymasterI have used the exact same settings you are using and have updated my site Premier version to 5.3.2 , using a regular WP theme and cannot reproduce your issues. We have other premier customers who rely heavily on the category selector and no reports of any issues. It is something unique to your site. (Also the premier 5.3.2 update had to be done manually because it only works with WP version 5.3.2 so we did not want to make it an auto update for those people who did not update WP to 5.3.2
If you have a staging/dev site, did you also try it using a standard WordPress theme and not a custom theme?

CiciKeymasterYou are not on our server so we would not be auto pinging Google with call backs, but using any Browser dev tools you can see that you have this in as your results container for some of your locations:
href which I have never seen done before. So you have maps built within maps.
Every time your sit loads the map and results it is pinging that geocode you have built into your results (or theme). Looks nice but you should contact Google support on how that is impacting your api billing.

CiciKeymasterThe most common issue if you cannot edit or add locations is a conflict with another plug-in. (like a minify plugin such as Smush it)
But in your case looking at that site, You have a mismatch of versions with the WPSLP Core .min and slp_core min
I have no idea how that happened unless your site was migrated incorreclty, or you have left on WP_Debug and/or something during your update was not copied over. Ive not seen that situation before. Usually both those files are pretty much exact same version numbers with maybe the time stamp slightly different,
These are the two different versions showing if I inspect your sources on that site

The search by Name field is the name of the business. not a secondary search by an employee. Not sure I am following what you are trying to obtain.
See the data fields that you can use.
There are search by tags, search by categories, search by address, search by state, search by country, search by name (Name of store) Those additional fields are part of discrete searchs as part of add-ons.Are you trying to create a directoy? or SEO Pages? or just a contact fields s=directory) Contact fields is part of the Power add-on

You have some errors on your site involving js.
The category selector on Floe international SITE is broken because the JS is broken.
On your site:
When we pick a new category from the drop down it is not updating the matching hidden field that SLP uses to tell the server which categories are selected.
Something else is manipulating/managing form I/O.
The developers guess is Bootstrap Hover Dropdown is likely , as part of their h-code theme.
You will need to debug your JS and figure out why the slp-power/js/slp-power_userinterface.min.js is not allowed to control the category drop down interaction.
If they want to stop minifying the SLP JS they will need to turn WP_DEBUG on (set it to true) in wp-config. SLP uses that to determine when debugging is needed and that includes providing the uncompressed JavaScript which is much easier to debug.If you need the developer to log-in and do the Troubleshooting that is a separate paid support. I can send you an email from support with the language and requirements to engage the developer to debug and troubleshoot your site.
P.S. the reason you cannot auto update Premier auto udates had to ve blocked as mentioned in the email dated Dec 13, your server is trying to validate the SLP Premier license Server 10x/minute. This indicates there is something not set up correctly with your
WP environment.CiciKeymasterI see an email sent to graphics@floeintl.com in support channel Dec 13 about how many times your site was oinging our server and the duplicate subscription. The developer was on travel that week.
I have asked him to add you to the Charleston SW Slack channel so that he can communicate and explain the situation and walk you through any issues
