December 21, 2020 at 5:04 PM in reply to: Description field not showing on results for locations added after update #81421CiciKeymasterIn order to assist you I need information about your SLP Plug-in environment found under the Info tab and the url that is causing issues. Please refer to the Forum Posting guidelines
If you recently updated WordPress to version 5.6, note the update was a major release and broke son Themes and other plug-ins. I have tested my site and the following works;
If you have the experience add-on under Settings/Results you can add or modify the layouts for results, search or map add this
<span class=”slp_result_description”> [slp_location description raw]</span>[html br ifset description]</span>
CiciKeymasterP.S. See if it is hard coded in the index or a table somehow. Not sure how that would work specifically.
Also I noticed that no locations on the west coast show up in the initial map displays. That usually indicates you do not have a large initial results setting at a high enough number . If your “enter at map” is not set to something else, it will default to center of US considered to be in OK. Assume Everett,WA is further than the initial display setting in miles. If you want to show there are locations everywhere on the West coast you might want to set that Results setting at 1500 miles.
Have you refreshed or cleared your cache to see if that clears out the deleted location?
CiciKeymasterDid you refresh your browser afterwards? Double check to make sure it is really deleted in the back end after refreshing
How did you delete, did you do it manually or did you use the bulk action tool?
I cannot reproduce this on my test site, I deleted two of my locations manually and they are not appearing on my front end.
Inspecting your site, your where to buy Index has this error : GET http://cloud.typography.com/6104232/761586/css/fonts.css net::ERR_ABORTED 404 (Not Found)
P.S you are not using the latest version of Power. Try updating, This shouldn’t effect your issue but if you were using bulk actions perhaps it will
CiciKeymasterI see that your account has been updated. To see the Beta Pre release versions for manual download on a test site, log into your WPSLP account and scroll to bottom of your account page to the word downloads in the footer. All available files should be present.
CiciKeymasterP.S. I have added some locations mimicking what you have in Austria. If you add under Search Labels some definitive instructions it should help. I noticed Austria has unique postal codes. If you were to add in the label placeholder in search, add postal code and /or state. Or city state it may help.
I searched by the state Lower Austria for example.
You can also experiment with the radius behavior to under Search since you have the EXP add-on .
The zoom level as well will determine what is shown Zoom level: initial zoom level of the map if “immediately show locations” is NOT selected or if only a single location is found. For example 0 = world view, 19 = house view.
Zoom adjustment: Changes how tight auto-zoom bounds the locations shown. Lower numbers are closer to the locations
CiciKeymasterHello,
An answer was sent via email in support. Since there is nothing propietary in the response I would like to add the reply from the developer so anyone else reading this topic will see the answer.
1) WordPress debug log files (debug.log) and the WP_DEBUG/WP_DEBUG_LOG settings only capture PHP errors.
2) JavaScript errors are coming from code running in a user’s browser. These are not captured in WordPress debug logs.
3) The JavaScript errors are not coming from SLP provided files. It can be from other plugins with broken JavaScript code or from a JavaScript combiner/reducer plugin that tries to optimize the JavaScript files. Many of these plugins do a poor job and break a lot of things along the way (SquishIt, Compressor, etc. are examples we’ve come across in the past).
4) We can login and look with paid support, if it turns out to be a SLP caused problem we will refund the support fee and provide a patch. If it is traced to a non-SLP program we will only provide info on what we found. To do this a staging server is required, we will not work on a live site.
CiciKeymasterDo you have Premier? Show address guess is available through the Premier subscription.
I thought you had premier. It looks like the annual fee may not have been paid in JULY 2020. if so then the Premier features will be turned off once you updated.
As far as approaching Google.
There is Google Maps help /support and it can be difficult to get the right answer.
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/support
here is an example of one submitted to support. https://support.google.com/maps/thread/31982286?hl=en, whereas ” This is for a specific website (Hcareers) where they are stating that our address shows incorrectly on their site because it’s not in the Google API maps database but is showing in Google maps. They referred me to this thread: https://support.google.com/maps/thread/7743642?hl=en
As far as the plan for MYSLP. That would depend on the options you need, number of locations, number of map views, etc etc.
November 24, 2020 at 12:08 PM in reply to: SLP is pulling an older version of custom .css file #81387CiciKeymasterHi Lisa,
Did you resolve this? The file that was attached was referencing the theme file CSS. Not any of the standard SLP plug-ins. If they were using an old legacy SLP plug-in style you can review them in the docs and compare them .
You can now change a lot of the CSS with WP . You should experiment on a cloned staging site .
CiciKeymasterTo find out where or what plugin or if it is your theme, you would need to look into each one to see if they are also using a Google API. Do you have a clone of that site that you can test on? I wouldn’t test on the production site.
If you have deactivated all , suggest clearing the cache in WP .
And second my guess would be it is the theme.
There is no where for you to enter multiple Google APIS with our plug-in.
If you clone or use a staging site you could try a fresh install to see if it is resolved.
CiciKeymasterI had the whole thing answered and then my page closed. Ugh. This question was very similar to the one you asked in 2017.
This has been explained before. Google API does use different algorithms then what is allowed the third party developers. The Software as a Service platform, MYSLP we can resolve a lot of these.
Google is showing what they consider to be the middle of that postal code area. As far as it being different on their own “proprietary” map, their algorithms aren’t the same. See Google Inaccurate Results post
The marker that is showing up is what you have designated as the home marker, and Google determines that is the middle of that zone or home for that zip /postal code. Google Support are supposed to correct these things now that they charge you for using their API. They should be able to provide an explanation.
You can turn on Address suggestions
That might show the whole address of your locations.
You can add additional instructions under Search Settings/ Label Address placeholder, such as for better results type in street address ,
CiciKeymasterYes, send an email with all the info to Support using the Contact Us form and I will see it.
So you said you resolved the Multiple Google APIS?
If you are referring to Editing individual map markers, that is a reported issue and is in the developers fix it to do list.
Once I see the email to support I will check to see if it is the same issue. I do not need log-in info . we do not log-in on admin for customers site, that would be a paid support troubleshooting item (like you we do not want to fool around with peoples sites in the admin site)
Just show me some screenshots from your back end I can determine if we are talking about the same thing.
CiciKeymasterIs this the site you say is missing locations in alphabet?
https://www.goodwillvalleys.com/shop/
If so you have same issue, the site was not correctly migrated. You have a ton of errors in that site. Including Mixed content (se docs). Having errors when migrating sites can cause plug-ins to act up. Store locator Plus uses Javascript. you may need to troubleshoot and see if some of the tables in the database were not migrated completely
CiciKeymasterPlease, provide your plug-in environment when posting in the forums. I had to look up your name, and order to see the Premier and the site. Note: If someone else were to answer in the forum they would not have access to that info and wouldn’t be able to help
The Experience add-on would NOT make you “lose categories”. EXP does not have anything to do with categories. Categories are part of the Power add-on
Did you recently update plug-ins? Did you back up your site first and are you working on a test site or staging site and not the live site ? If making changes it is always advisable to work on staging sites, ditto before updating plug-ins themes etc
I believe someone from your team wrote into support and asked about adding CSS. In order to add CSS to the SLP style you need to activate the Experience add-on.
Your theme or other plug-in is dominating the look of the page the map is on.
You can add CSS under Settings/view. or, depending on what you need to do, WP also now has CSS capabilities.
https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/wordpress-custom-css-rules/
Or if you were using a Legacy Locator style (examples Above and beyond1 , 2 , 3
Custom CSS support is built into WordPress core and themes only need to tell WordPress they support that option to enable the functionality. Many modern themes now include this option. Go to Appearance | Customize | Additional CSS and paste the CSS there.
Please provide more info about losing categories and provide the link to your test site or the page where your categories are being shown or not shown so that i can better assist you

You must be logged in to view attached files.CiciKeymasterHi KO,
Assume you are still using premier and latest updates
I cannot see the screen shots , they exceed max allowed.
I can tell you 2 ways to accomplish this since you have multiple hour blocks (I do not know how you would do it using the general results layout.)
The simple way I did this.
- Under Locations edit Hours add the <br> in the text box (screenshots attached back end and front end
or add the text under description with the <br> to break the lines.

You must be logged in to view attached files.CiciKeymasterCould you please provide your Plug-in environment? We do not have a “cvs plug-in.” I see you purchased the Power add-on to the SLP plug-in in 2019. There is no upgrade to a plus (?)
1) Make sure you are using current versions of the plug-ins and add-ons.
2) if you are only getting part of the data, it is possible that you have some constraints or processing limitations .
see here about exporting troubleshooting tips .
CiciKeymasterThe scheduled import has issues with the order in which WP runs the CRON jobs.
This is on the to do list. You can check CRON issues on WordPress to see if there is a work around
CiciKeymasterThe issue regarding the map info bubble with labels is in testing. If you have a testing site or dev site and have Premier you can download it to test the SLP beta v 5.5.14
As far as resolving the “mushed” phone and fax numbers. Go into your location and add a space in front of the phone number, refresh , it should be resolved, That is the simplest way to correct your issue
CiciKeymasterIn apologize, I searched by company name and see you bought Power in 2019. If you dod not have an issue before what version of SLP were you using before updating? That might help us track down when the map info bubble issue appeared. We believe it was a version from earlier this year but are not sure.
CiciKeymasterSee Map Bubble layout and add the fields to change it
<span id=”slp_bubble_phone”>Phone:</span>
The map info bubble issue has been reported and is in queue for next update
CiciKeymasterWe do not see any requests from you where did you “submit”? Nothing in the update would effect layouts, The Power update addressed category locations marker .
P.S. are you part of the next step team ? with the site frstream. I do not see any orders associated with your name or your company. Are you referring to the MAP INFO BUBBLE? There was a reported issue regarding the map info bubble layout
If you were part of the next step team you added shortcode to resolve the issue. Did you back-up your site before updating?
Do you have the Experience add-on ? If so you have the ability to change the MAP bubble layout as well as results layout and search layout https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/results-layout-shortcodes-and-attributes/
.Under Settings/Map Change
see
example:
<span>[slp_location email_link]</span>

CiciKeymasterYou need to fix the Javascript error as mentioned. This is not coming from us.
A lot of themes broke when the update was done.
