In order to assist you I need to know what versions of  The SLP plug-in

I see you have bought the Power add-on  but we have no insight regarding your settings etc.

Please provide the information required in posting guidelines.

    or

please visit our documentation pages  .

    Some links regarding category

You may need to change the results layout

    or ,

    change the

    order by

When I searched that site using the drop down category selector for ITs I saw all but then refreshed and only saw the ITS category…I assume that is what you mean?

The reason you could not auto updates is because WP delisted and we are waiting for them to review. We may decide not to go through WP in the future for updates but all Premier customers will have  latest versions available. Other customers will need to purchase SLP.

Alternatively our SLP SaaS platform customers NEVER have to worry about updates or other issues.

The developer posted instructions under his News release here as well

Follow these steps to manually upgrade your Plug-in and/or add-on packs:

Make sure you have a back up of your site before any major updates

    • Login to your account on the Store Locator Plus   The log in is under WordPress SLP
    • Download your SLP version 5.10 or latest and/or  add-on packs for any that are out-of-date.
    • Via your WordPress admin panel, deactivate and delete the SLP plugin
    • Via your WordPress admin panel, install the zip files you downloaded from the Store Locator Plus site, activate the SLP plug-in
    • Then follow same for the add-on packs

P.S. As far as a new feature requests. The developer   considers new  features for the SaaS Enterprise platform only ( but then again, your issue isn’t a problem there).      SaaS works across multiple platforms not just in WordPress and that is the wave of the future

Yep sounds like some Google tomfoolery requiring you to add more information for results. Again since you are using the stand alone DIY SLP plug-in with add-ons , send Google a ticket . You shouldn’t need to add more for one specific address as compared to other addresses.

How search works, the technical aspects

D07 KT67 is Not recognized by Google as a valid search

Google is not recognizing it.  If I search using Bing Maps it comes up immediately but in Bing it auto adds in results a more complete address Dublin 7, D07 KT67, Ireland

That location is shown on your initial map because you have the settings to display initial.

Search criteria through Google is different and outside what we can force them to show (this is why I mentioned the SLP SaaS because we add the random Google locations to our database and it searches the list in addition to Googles)

    Stesp to take

    1) Report to Google that the “zip code”D07 KT67 does not return a value.

Also of note tell them, Bing  Mapsdoes return results as Dublin 7, Do7KT67…

    In the meantime

    2)   add discrete additional  instructions telling your customers to add additional details such as city name and zip code, or street address

    Example,

I added these instructions  in my test site search box:

Go to  SLP/Settings/Search/ Label Address Placeholder add something like this

“Try adding a city name and/ or street address for more accurate results.”

The message or instructions  shows up in the search box form for address/zip code

When I searched on your site adding the  additional criteria of a city , “D07KT67 Dublin  ”

the results loaded instantly including that zip. (Try adding that one little extra criteria in search yourself)

in summation  The nag Google and convince them that the “zip code” is valid and to fix their algorithms.

Catherine I am confused by your multiple forum notes. I assume this is not an issue any longer as I see the category icons on your search page on that url above.

So I replied in the other post as well.

    1) It is most likely your specialized theme and CSS that has rendered the search by category as an issue, use the debugger or switch to a plain WP theme on your staging test site and see if your search works the way you expect it to.

Do not do updates on anything other than a Test or dev site.

    See Updates Search not working

    2) If you are reporting that you removed categories from your admin area of  site but still see them on front page, that is a different issue since Category tables taxonomy is a WP dataset

I am not quite sure what the real question is since  your site instructions and what to do first second third is a bit confusing for me.  Such as wait for map to load select town first or category or..it seems you have quite a few specific layouts and may be worthwhile to ask your developer about what may have changed on your end

The  taxonomy and changes  are mentioned in the WP 5.7 changelog. So if your dev team had added

    https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/get_taxonomy_labels/https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/

It works if you search 500km. This indicates there may be  an issue with some of your settings.

I cannot see which WP version you are using because the copy and paste you used was not done correctly above.

I Added your location from above and from your map to my test site and when I saw what Google commercial Maps had as location it returned this

So something is fishy between where Google thinks that address is and the returned postal code as far as the algorithms as we mentioned in many other articles.( Google thinks they own the lat long and mislead , use false data returns or conversions every once in a while.)

If you search the address lat long they added when the address was geocoded  and load within the Google Commercial MAPS and look in browser you will see this pathway they converted  it to is NOT the same as what they geocoded. this shows a perfect example of how google is changing  based on their own algorithms

    https://www.google.com/maps/place/5+Berkeley+Rd,+Phibsborough,+Dublin+7,+D07+KT67,+Ireland/@53.3581079,-6.2714719,17z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x48670e7fa24c2e19:0xdea78187171e5824!8m2!3d53.3581047!4d-6.2692779

As you can see above I searched with the geocode from the back end provided when I added the location to my test site and when loading the geocode from back end by right clicking the location shows was transferred to a different lat long.

Using Bing with general address no zip code it returns this 53.358100, -6.269280

Check other Map software and find the accurate Lat Long

You can report this to Google ,

    or

Go in your back end  under location and try adding the correct lat/long This is nothing we can ddo. If you were to use the Enterprise SaaS we would add the correct location to our database.

Next check your Map center and radius info. and results  settings at start up , order by and search… All the settings are available in the back end look under documentation not forums and search by keywords for settings.

See all the News articles about this Google Trickery under the NEWS google-maps-api-returning-inaccurate-results

    Catherine,

What version of WP are you using (We ask people to share their plug-in environment with a screenshot because that info is included)

I see a syntax error in your site. Upload failure theme library for CSS map

    https://learnlocal.org.au/wp-content/themes/learn_local/library/css/style.css.map

I have tested Multiple categories checkbox with the premier installed and it works for me without issues.

P.S. The info we normally need to answer your questions are Plug-in environment. That also shows your version of WordPress PHP versions etc.  No one has mentioned issues with exporting for quite a while .

You provided us with only a screenshot of our two plug-ins.

P.S. Not sure which dead link but I included two above about Exports and the PHP and web server and connections.

    Hello

Bulk Filters are under Show All

About the Web server  configut=ration timing out etc.

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/troubleshooting-large-scale-exports/

As mentioned I cannot replicate your situation at all. Not sure if you need to contact your server host or use the debugger to see if there are issues perhaps with the last update.  My first thought is actually it has to do with your server or connection timing out.  Suggest you  try to select the first 50 to export and then the next 50. I cannot troubleshoot for you on your site.

Unfortunately, since it is not an issue with our plug-in . you would need to report the back end issue to WordPress.  but first read their debugger guide to isolate the issue. It could be your them or another plug-in.

    reporting-bugs

They also suggested “If you experience problems after the upgrade, you can always restore your backup and replace the files with ones from your previous version from the release archive.”

The  filters are under the show all drop down and allows you to filter by property.   See screenshot . I haven’t used it for quite a while just make sure you have cleared the cache if you think those were ever used before.

I think there could be something quirky going on with the latest WP updates . Others have mentioned issues that only appeared when they last updated WP to 5.7 or 5.7.1 and the back end admin area was wonky.   I am still using WP 5.6  so  that may be why I can’t replicate the issue on my test site

I did test using a MYSLP SaaS customer with 497 locations. I did not change the screen settings so only 50 locations per page .  I exported to a csv file.  I then uploaded it into Google sheets. All 497 locations loaded/imported into the sheet.

But I am using WP version 5.3 on that site.

So short answer is. I have no idea what is going on with your site. If its the version of WP or limitations on your server or host or browser.

So if you change screen options to a higher number  (try 125) you may need to also expand your browser window to get the full pagination.  I am sorry I cannot provide more succinct instructions I just can’t replicate the issue

P.S. You do not need to click on any buttons such as Apply to all etc unless you are using filters.  Just  export to a csv file.  You are showing me an excel file not a csv file so to is difficult to ascertain your issue. The issue could be in the conversion of your csv file into excel and not the csv file itself.

Try importing/converting the csv file  into Google sheets instead of Microsoft. Microsoft excel can be quirky.  More info about sl_id https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/csv-import-duplicates-handling/

The screen options for displaying number of locations does not matter when it comes to exporting.  A larger number to display is not advisable if your server cannot handle it

The screenshots you provided are not showing the headers so I cannot see what you are trying to show me but I can glance and see that you must have some perhaps marked private or that were deleted Such as sl_id 307, etc… I also cannot tell if that is an ID you have added or if the header row indicates that is the sl_id. As noted they are assigned first in so may not match the exact numbering scheme on a screenshot.

Are you using any of the “Bulk Filters”? If you are using specific filters that could explain some differences.

    For troubleshooting exports

See docs here.Export to csv file

P.S. We had contact from a customer who had some similar issues.

Our suggestion: If you recently updated to WP 5.7.1 it could be causing new issues that were not evident before. There were issues reported about the elementor interaction in the WP core trac.

We suggested they roll back the WP update and that resolved their issue.

P.S. If you look at the issues others are having with the updates to WP 5.7.1 you will see there are some complex issues with the editor and possibly javascript.

Assume you updates on a dev or staging site? Can you will back WP to an earlier version since I cannot recreate your issues?

Not sure what the “pop up” boxes screenshot is supposed to show us. but what is needed is the plug-in environment , versions etc. The back end of your plug-in does not look anything like mine. I have no idea what Catalyst is supposed to mean as it is referenced in your Post . Is that your theme?

Better address accuracy outside the United States

The biggest change to the My Store Locator Plus® software as a service was the implementation of region data handling. The map domain, aka “region” setting under Store Locator Plus | Settings | Map influences the accuracy of the results returned for new location addresses as well as user searches.

Users in countries like Australia or parts of Western Europe should see a notable improvement in the accuracy of locations returned when searching for an address. The map engines, primarily Google, that are used to geocode addresses are more heavily influenced by the region setting in those countries.

    Yes Vuetfy ,  seo-pages-and-12-column-grid-support

Not sure when the back end changed to tell you the truth , but you are correct usually the red text as opposed to black text means something specific like required but because the foundation of MySLP SaaS was built from the original plug-in that may not be the case.

You’ve now peaked my interest and I will have to ask the developer during a fireside chat.

    🙂

If you have any problems with Google not finding some of the locations in Australia correctly you might want to switch over to SLP SaaS.

    @Caitlin aka joseph

Your client has allowed the Premier  subscription to expire. Was there a setting in your premier subscription that was impacted by your other updates?

Suggest you move over to the SLP SaaS platform if you need us to “look around” your various settings. We have more control of what the back end is doing as well as some of the settings. We will not be logging into non-SLP SaaS accounts,

    Thanks

As far as the red text in the back end. I am not sure when that came about. The developer switched to Vuefy quite awhile ago.

As far as the map domain I answered in a different post. But there are NEWS articles about accuracy in other countries
