Did you try the radio button bar with the Bennet theme and a category legend checked off?

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/category-button-bar/

Are you testing on a new clone site not your production site?

I understand the scenario , you want to combine selector styles. I can mention to Lance and see if he has another idea that doesn’t include customization. He has been super busy with a large custom software project (not WordPress)

I will try some experimentation as well to see if I can come up with a solution.

Tags and categories  are 100% independent of each other,

    tags are   non – hierarchical

    categories: a hierarchical taxonomy

Please refer to  the WP  developers handbook for the explanation of categories, taxonomy, tags framework .

The info in the WP developer may give you some ideas on how to better organize the groups.

Alternatively you may decide to create multiple parent child categories instead of single parent

    Under Settings/Search

With Premier there are additional hierarchy selector options such as Single Parent, Parent /child relationship . They can be further defined with a relationship if you are referring to categories, such as horizontal checkbox with an OR

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/store-and-category-manager/

You need to set up a parent as it appears you have.  You could also redirect to a new map page using Widgets and  shortcodes

I can not tell if you are using TAGS in text or Categories. You can use hierarchy rules if using categories. Tags are just text and do not have hierarchy.

Without specific information aid is difficult to ascertain and answer .

Could you provide a specific example ? Also versions, do you have Premier, experience and power activated, what versions etc.

Could you provide me with the Plugin environment ?

You can find that info under the SLP/Info tab. I need to see all the info about the versions including PHP and that will show me.

    Hello Jenny,

Since I assume you are using the WordPress SLP Plug-in , we  have no insight into your backend, since you are using the self managed plugin.

What is your plug-in info? (as described in the posting guidelines). If you have the Power add-on try exporting your locations and uploading to Google sheets or another format so that you can readily see what may be missing or different.’ Then you can update the back end. I would do that on a staging site or test site before making any major changes to your list

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/troubleshooting-large-scale-exports/

    P.S.

If you were using the.   SLP SaaS  platform I could take a look for you to see what is happening.

Every WordPress site is set up differently so I really have no idea what’s happening.

    hello Anthony,

    1) I see these errors when you use the browsers dev tools.

    [Error] <link rel=preload> must have a valid as value (our-branches, line 14)

[Error] TypeError: $ is not a function. (In ‘$(‘.animation-element’)’, ‘$’ is undefined)

    Global Code (animscroll.js:1)

This error is being generated by your theme function.

    2) As far as Loading Indicator. You see None because you only have the basic  plug-in.

    3) You are using WP GOOGLE MAP PLUG-In

    4) You also have a GSTATIC Map. API  in that site. Do you have the correct MAP API for SLP?

See screen shot showing your theme error and your other WP Google Map plug-in.  When using the Browser dev tools, run and reload under Network” and the WP Google MAPS is firing off first.

The way to test for conflicts is explained by the WP debugger, yes, but you should also try by turning  off plug-ins one by one to see when and if resolved. I cannot tell on your link if there is a conflict with having two Locator Maps or not.

Here are suggestions about testing and debugging if Search doesn’t work.

    Good Job!

    Thanks for posting

I didn’t understand the question sufficiently enough to answer your question. But yes you can usually change CSS within WP.

That would be a customization request for  the developer.

If you would like to see if the developer would consider this type of a request please use the contact us under support with exact specifications and someone will get back to you with the feasibility of the project and/or  the cost/schedule. Please note consideration of customization projects would require you to be a  SLP SaaS Enterprise customer We are not offering customizations for the stand alone plug-in at this time if it does not   benefit the SaaS users.

What is your SLP info, version etc?

Have you enabled billing in Google?

Have you troubleshooted by turning off other plugins to see i there is a onflict? Do you see any messages when adding location?

Please read forum guidelines info we need to assist you.

    For the WPSLP plug-in.

You could  use a different shortcode  on each page.

See Docs about short codes that are available to you with Power add-on.

Not “embed” a map. Embed script is part of the SLP SaaS platform.

In order to assist you better we need additional info.

Please read the forum posting guidelines. At the very least we need to know what versions , this can be found under the Info tab.

Since I do not know which site url you need to change I cannot offer you any advice how to best obtain desired result.

    @Amanda

The explanation why you have to buy the base plug-in was above, but also read the multiple news article from the developer beginning in May with version 5.9., and June 2021

I have not run into any issues about settings being saved if you follow the manual update directions and have a back up but also have your CSS saved. You can also export your JSON settings

Glad you found the info you needed. Thanks for letting us know

CSS may need to be copied onto your local drive if that was the case.

You will get notices of updates now that you own it. With the SLP SaaS we maintain all the updates. With the self managed buy it Plugin you need to check for updates but they are included for the $25.

    As far as the legend:

    Go to Settings/View.

There is a drop down menu for plug-in style.  Change to one of the other styles (default, etc)

There were some  shortcodes built in a couple of styles via CSS but if you do not have Power add-on (Tagalong was a category only add-on from a long time ago but was incorporated as  part of the Power add-on for the past 4 years.)

Sorry I mis understood, I thought you were just looking to keep the Self Managed plugin whereas you maintain your own Google Api keys. If you are referring to moving from the plug-in to the Slp SaaS”

Slp SaaS Platform I(t starts as low as $5 a month)  the locations can be transferred, uploaded to the Slp SaaS. Sign up for the plan and

Follow Instructions  how to load locations from the SLP plug-in to the Slp SaaS plans

They will not loose anything. Their Locations database is maintained in their own WP site for those self managed WP Plug-in. (This applies to the plugin only not the SaaS)  Make sure they have a back up of their site, following WordPress best practices.

Next You need to purchase the WPSLP Base Plugin for $25.  See the Latest Dev News

You will need to delete your old version of SLP after you have backed up your site.

Note : SLP version 5.10 and above are not listed in the WordPress Plugin Directory.   As such the first time you add/update the SLP plug-in  purchased from the store front , follow the below  installation process.

    • Login To Your Store Locator Plus  Account
    • Download the latest zip file version
    • Login to your WordPress admin panel for your website.
    • Go to the plugins sidebar menu.
    • Select Add New.
    • Select Upload.
    • Browse to your downloaded zip file.
    • Click Install now.
    • Activate

    1) Could you show a screenshot of your Plug-in environment?  Versions under info shows PHP versions as well

    2) You have some errors apparent when I view using browser dev tools. If you use any console browser dev tools you can see there are different paths and there is a a-wpengine ssl path.  when I look for source or inspect element   under your WP Plugins.. I cannot see on either of those urls where the plug-in is installed

    3)   This one worked for me , I searched using a city name Kansas City .   https://www.amputee-coalition.org/healthcare-providers/member-directory/

Try clearing your cache Did you clear the cache

Make sure you have the correct file paths, there is something different on your urls and I cannot resolve them .

I would reach out to your host about that SSL errors attached

    Also check the radius behavior.

And recheck the settings under results so that it doesn’t  automatically resolve back to 500 km, (is berlin more than 500 KM from the center search settings. )

And again, as mentioned are you appending Austria in your settings. The search results and Google seems to think so

Do you have a SLP short code or did you  append Austria to your search?     Using Chrome browser dev tools and typing in search this is what I see :

It is automatically adding the country Austria to the search even if I type in Berlin , Germany

    https://www.genol-tankkarte.at/wp-json/store-locator-plus/v2/geocode/fb33f73d74f687778dfd9151f00d5b9e/at/berlin%20Austria

    Berlin/{“results”:[],”status”:”ZERO_RESULTS”}

Ditto if I search and inspect other cities  below and this is the issue .

“code”:”rest_forbidden”,”message”:”Du bist leider nicht berechtigt, diese Aktion durchzuf\u00fchren.”,”data”:{“status”:401}},

With Store Locator Plus 5 all address lookups are routed back through the WordPress site via the REST API in order to protect Google API keys.

A while ago SLP was updated, See REST API  blog

there is a configuration problem on your site

Your plugins and add-ons are out of date , you have special div class called “the search” .slp-versions

Update plugin and add-on for starters, then search using the WP debugger to see if you have outdated or conflicts in your site.

We have no insight into your back end. If you were using the SLP SaaS it would be updated on a regular basis and we could tell what the issue is.

    Those instructions are in documentation.

    How to import. duplicate handling

You click on which , skip, add, etc.  It will NOT automatically delete.   That would be disastrous if someone inadvertently forgot to update some locations to have them automatically be deleted. You would want someone to make a conscientious decision to delete and not just delete willy nilly.

Ok, our messages crossed paths. I was going to say if you have Premier then the SLP base plug-in updates are included.

You need to purchase the base SLP plug-in from our storefront.

The version of the base plug-in is the crucial part.

It looks like you are not using all latest versions of the add-ons which is why you are getting multiple messages.

See the last three  news feed. WordPress no longer has SLP listed as approved in their directory. Yet we have had multiple updates to both the plug-in and the add-ons.

No . in fact you did not need to repurchase the add-ons, you need to purchase and download the SLP Base Plug-in since it is not longer listed in the WordPress directory.

Once you update the base plug-in you should be able to update the add-ons.

See the many News reports about updates etc
