It already has the ifset command I believe. I am not an expert at coding. You have started a new topic thank you. Since we are no longer speaking about imports. I have answered some of your questions in your new post.

Yes I see. . I am going to try and get some answers to you, might have Lance do a video tomorrow , he is much better at explaining in tutorials about how to reformat the layouts to be the way you want, he is much better at tutorials than I am.

A couple of things that I can explain a little I hope.

As far as the results. Go to Experience/Results/Functionality

    Under functionality Order results by.

If you want them to order alphabetically select name A to Z.

the default is closest farthest and if you have not set your center map at, it will default to the middle of the US…wherever Google decides is the middle of the US. You can have a search by state widgets, see for example on of our premier customers Old Spaghetti factory. They have had Lance do some customization and gone from there.

    http://www.osf.com/locations-map/

As far as having categories first in the search you can move the lines in the Search Layout by just copying and pasting it above or below the search element address…In other words, I cut and copied from my twenty sixteen search layout but Above and Beyond also has the same element for category:

Move the line that is slp search element dropdown with label =”category” to be above the search elements for address: So in my Search Layout I now have it here:

    <div id=”address_search” class=”slp search_box”>

    [slp_search_element dropdown_with_label=”category”]

    [slp_search_element add_on location=”second_top”]

If you are using above and beyond you can copy and paste any line to reorder the search box, ditto with the results. Think of it as moving a post it note, just pick it up and move it

    <div id=”address_search”>[slp_search_element dropdown_with_label=”category”]

    [slp_search_element input_with_label=”name”][slp_search_element input_with_label=”address”][slp_search_element dropdown_with_label=”city”][slp_search_element dropdown_with_label=”state”][slp_search_element dropdown_with_label=”country”][slp_search_element selector_with_label=”tag”]<div class=”search_item”>[slp_search_element dropdown_with_label=”radius”][slp_search_element button=”submit”]</div></div>

    etc

okey dokey, I like your site btw, its coming along nicely. Also Lance and I were discussing the location sensor and the SSL cert today and he told me that there is a site to get one free SSL domain cert. It is going to become standard, Google is pushing for it and Safari is following suit. If you are interested you can send us a chat or an email to support. , if you want an invite to the Slack channel please let us know by email, Lance has to set up the invites. It is where I can see the dev notes and private chat if Lance and I are online at same time, some of the dev bitbucket tasks are a little advanced techspeak.  But for questions that are for SLP support that the community can benefit from ,we still prefer the forums

    Shad,

that was Part of 4.6.2 change if you look at the versions release details”

Recalculate initial distance for all locations on global center map at change.

I recall I had to go back and refresh , change the center map at and lat/ long fallback.

I cannot recall the conversation Lance and I had, but he did explain it to me, but my brains a sieve

Let me know if that fixes your issue. if not can you chat us in SLACK channel?

    Hi Shad,

I know Lance did some changes and it was going to effect current customers, I know one of the changes had to do with zoom adjustments.  I will go through his notes to me and see what other changes he made.

We have released 4.6.5 today and it will require you to update Experience and Power and Premier. I haven’t announced it yet, been wrapped up with something else atm.

Ill be back with an answer from either me or Lance shortly.

First, what versions and what add-ons are you using?See posting guidelines, aso your url Second is your site https?

Please read the additional information about the location sensor and browsers.

    and under FAQ

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/q-even-when-i-have-the-location-sensor-turned-on-the-results-seem-to-go-to-the-center-of-the-country-why-is-that/

We cannot recreate your problem, we are using https and the Firefox, chrome and safari browsers work with location sensor.

    I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN YOU TRIED THE DEMO BUT THE DEMO IS NOT WORKING AND WE POSTED THIS INFO;

Please continue to be patient as we work with the new server and the folks at WP Ninjas to get our live demo site back online.

If you’ve come to our Store Locator Plus demo site any time in the past month you know we’ve been having some issues keeping it running. The demo site stopped creating “try it out in real time” demo sites back in early August 2016. We filed a support ticket with our demo software provider, WP Ninjas, later that week. After a few emails back-and-forth they logged into our site and saw “nothing wrong”. A patch was released. That didn’t help. We moved the demo site to a new server. No help.

Fast forward to the last week of September, 2016. We decided to “wipe the slate clean”. Today we are rebuilding a brand new site with a clean database on our new PHP7 + nginx server. It should be faster, cleaner, and up-to-date with the latest version of WordPress, Store Locator Plus, and Ninja Demo.

Once we get it booted, get the dials all turned the right way, and run it through a couple of tests we’ll turn it back on. Should be in a few days. We’ll likely even have a few code updates to share with the WP Ninja folks before we’re done.

In the meantime you can check out our YouTube Channel, our Documentation site, and our SLP Store.

Please provide the information per posting guidelines so that we can better assist you. The first thing in posting guidelines is Make sure you have updated versions. See the versions list second we need your plugin environment with add-ons, do you have add-ons, what version of WP etc , also site url

I do not know how your other plugins may interact with SLP or if there is something else going on.  If you think there is a conflict, follow the troubleshooting guideline and debug the WP plugins.

Could you please provide the information requested in the Posting Guidelines so that we can better advise you. A screenshot of your Plugin Environment is most useful as well as  your site url that has the location Search page is helpful.

Check your Map zoom adjustments and center map at

Also there are results area to search, the radius and the amount to show.

See also Radius behavior and results documentation

I do not know if you have any add-ons, once you provide the above info we can be a little more specific

    The new dosc site page.

Search categories in keywords to find all the posts about the feature

Here is an older documentation page just about “Tagalong” , same thing as  Categories. It is more intrinsic then the new site documentation  but the screenshots look different since it is of the older interface, it works the same way.

We will try to add a tutorial later on the SLP you tube channel

There are a few other tutorials on the SLP You Tube channel that you may find useful.

This is the Power 4.6.3 tutorial and the directory function might help you think outside of the box of some of the things you are trying to do.

There is also this tutorial that shows how to use the cascading dropdowns. It references the Premier functionality of having multiple dropdowns in a table with parent child, but you can ignore that part if it doesn’t apply to what you are doing.

Terry the link you sent me shows the front end but not the back end. Are you saying the locations were added and you can see them in the Locations Management Panel but not on front end?

If that is the situation you need to look at your settings under Experience. For instance when I clicked on your first site, Steiner it redirected me to another page that had different pins and markers and another map page. If I recall from your emails. you wanted the location name to be clickable and redirect to a site url (presumably the DR web site).

You have it redirecting to another map page instead .

If this is still in development stage that is fine, but I would have to say that if you are not seeing them on the front end but are seeing them on the back end  the issue is that some of your settings are not what you want.

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/appearance-layouts/

If the issue is that they are not geocoding, then you may be sharing the geocode limitations if you do not have your own API key.

We are getting a few of your questions via forums and a few via  piece meal but aren’t quite sure what exactly you are hoping to see as an end product with the site.

Now that you have Power you can have contact field names if you want to do that instead of having their names in description, you can add more shortcodes to display more fields

For instance I see you have the dropdown search by city and also by state and also a search by zip code and also a search by category. You may need to add instructions in the labels to tell the site vistors exactly what they should be choosing, do you want them to search by zip and city and state and category?

I think you can get there , for instance I see all the sites in and around 29464, I can further define search by equine,  but not all your locations show up on the initial map. That tells me you do not have a large enough radius under Experience/Results/Initial search radius. You should have that be a large number and also  the number to show initially make it a large number.

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/results-panel-settings/

Or do not show the map until a search had been conducted.

If you can explain exactly what you would like to optimally do we could better assist you.

Did you recheck under Locations after you refreshed your screen?

It can take a minute to upload. If you have double checked could you  please provide your site url?

Did you have duplicates handling add?  In other words were the locations already in your locations manager and were you updating them. See

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/csv-import-duplicates-handling/

There are a few more pages in the docs site about imports and CSV file formats etc.

if it said that 302 locations were added  I would have to say to refresh your locations and go back and check. It can take a little bit of time to show up if you are not on a dedicated server.

    Hello Anna,

Did you update to the latest version of Power to 4.6.4? I believe Lance is working on 4.6.5 of Power now , there was a bug , and it is in beta testing now (You can see it under your account)

Do you have a dev site or a staging site that you can download the pre-release on? You would need to have your site backed up.  It is not advised to download a beta pre-release on your live production site. I will put this back on Lances board to take a look at and to see if the 4.6.5 is applicable in your instance.

    Thanks

It says under the experience tab, not add-on . When you look at the Plugin and click on SLP admin panel, you see tabs across the top, or call them headers…

    INFO,LOCATIONS,EXPERIENCE,GENERAL

The section under each Tab or “header” has additional sections in the panel with applicable titles where you find settings in the panel and they are dependent on which add-ons you have installed and activated. If you have experience Add-on you will see additional sections in the panel and you will see what add-on manages that panel

If you had power Add-on you would also see additional tabs, for the headers , Categories and reports.  I guess I should change the documentation verbiage.

By adding to your first question you make this post appear to be less than 24 hours old, please refer to the posting guidelines. Premier customers are answered first then this forum, it can take several days to be answered depending on if I am working that day and if there are other things going on in the developers SCHEDULE. if you “bump”, then your question appears newer than it is, and the order we answer questions is by date

    1) Paid support 2) Premier customers forum, 3) Store locator plus forums, then last :  email unless it is in reference to a sale inquiry or payments, or is from a paid customization.

I do not know which SLP plugin style nor what your theme is but for Default theme rev 2015 this is what that sections looks like “out of the box”

    <div class=”results_row_center_column” id=”slp_center_cell_[slp_location id]” ><span class=”slp_result_address slp_result_street”>[slp_location address]</span><span class=”slp_result_address slp_result_street2″>[slp_location address2]</span>

It looks fine on my site without touching anything in the layout , the second line of the address appears on the second line in the center col. on front end.  So if that isnt how it is appearing on your site,  It could be your Theme (which may override the layout), or it could be a css rule you have added. I have no way of knowing.

You wuld have to look at your snippets using any browser developer tool to see if your WP theme is creating an issue because of size of box etc.

if you  need to , you could put in a <br> somewhere after the line. You have Experience so you can write css rules if you need to correct and override a cell that was inherited by your theme. See the docs site and youtube videos on how to change results, layouts, css etc.

I am attaching the screenshot of how my results with two address lines appears with the above snippet.

This falls into the answer in FAQ regarding Location Sensor and Browsers.   (more info here)It works exactly as expected  and warned. When I use  Firefox as my browser pops up a message box that states “site wants to know your location”  and you click ALLOW…if I do not allow, my location will be assumed to be middle of country per Google maps decision. SEE ATTACHED screenshots to show you what happens depending on which browser I choose to use to go to your site.  Firefox asks, Google Chrome never bothers to ask because your site is http. SEE THIS LINK FROM GOOGLE about deprecating. They stated  “We want to start by requiring secure origins for these existing features:

Geolocation — requires secure origins as of M50

As with gradually marking HTTP as non-secure, we expect to gradually migrate these features to secure-only, based on thresholds of usage, starting with lowest usage and moving towards higher. We also expect to gradually indicate in the UX that the features are deprecated for non-secure origins.”

When I go to your site using Chrome with current version of Chrome  I see the console error messages about the site being deprecated, . i.e. if your site is not HTTPS (SSL certificate) then they aren’t ever going to show you or  the site visitor their location or even ASK the site visitor to make the decision to allow.. This is GOOGLE and there is no work around  as far as I know, , unless you go to  https , not an easy task according to the developer and his blogs but he does provide you with useful insight if you are thinking of moving in that direction.

    YOUR SITE WITH CHROME :

    Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ,

slp.js?ver=4.6.3:123 getCurrentPosition() and watchPosition() no longer work on insecure origins. To use this feature, you should consider switching your application to a secure origin, such as HTTPS. See https://goo.gl/rStTGz for more details.currentLocation @ slp.js?ver=4.6.3:123

jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:4 Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user’s experience. For more help, check https://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/.send @ jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:4

Ummmm easy?  No, the aerial map q. was an easy answer this one is not easy…unless I am not understanding the question which is always a possibility.

    🙂

Directions are  100% controlled by Google maps, locations sensor by your browser.  You can select use home map marker , and use  Location sensor ….But  you want their home to sh0w up in the map bubble itself?    I do not know how you would add a map marker to appear as the users location in the map bubble, do you mean that you want  something like a  location sensor to find them on earth (NSA??) before they ever query as a search or “talk to Google maps”? scary, but hey what do I know, I am not the techie type.

See  map bubble shortcodes ,   if you come up with an ingenious way to do it could you let me know?

Just be aware that Location sensor will not necessarily work with the new Chrome versions IF you do not have a secure site i.e. https.

Please be aware that SLP latest version requires the ENHANCED LEGACY add-ons to be downloaded anew from your account, they will be updated to 4.6.4 and will not work if you do not update them.

Are you using  English language on your site?

Just so you know all the Enhanced Legacy add-ons are replaced by Experience Add-on. See the comparison here

You would need to be using WordPress 4.4 at a minimum. Past purchases qualify you for discounts depending on when you bought them, or  if you take the hosting survey you may receive a deeper discount for any add-on of your choice, Power, Experience or Premier..

Are you running WordPress 4.4 or higher?  You MUST be using WP 4.4 or higher, Power and Experience need that version at a minimum.  Go to your Plugin menu and deactivate Power add-on and delete. Double check to see that you are using high enough WP, PHP (5.6 recommended by WP) etc.

You would be able to do most of that with the Premier plugin (please see the description) which has territories, directory builder, SEO pages, buy here woocommerce, power add-on (includes import, category taxonomy SEO pages, Directory Builder) , experience add-on (where you can use to  rank and /or feature listings). Or if you need more specific customization you can send the specs and details thru the Paid customization. and receive a quote from the developer.  I think that would be the best bet, is open a dialog with the development team, they have extensive expertise with the ecommerce world

I am at a loss as to how your site and/or WordPress is set up.For instance do you have “Force Load Javascript” checked off for some reason?

It would really be helpful to see a screenshot of your Plugin environment, if we could see the php version and mysql etc.

If you cannot even manually upload from a zip file on your local computer then it is not the remote file retrieval.

Do you have full user permissions? Are you using Multi site?
    Please review the Troubleshooting guide.

Something is broken on your site that I cannot replicate. Can you try debugging (how to is also nder the troubleshooting) and sending any errors to us at support?

I have added this to his “please take a look list” but if you cannot wait and need immediate assistance he will need to schedule a time with you for IMMEDIATE one on one support requiring the developer to login to your site you would need to select the paid support login option. You will need to also make sure your site is backed up.

Hi Dylan, Could you please provide your plugin environment which will show me the versions and add-ons you are using…also your locator page url? I dont know exactly how you have your back end UI set up…so there are a bunch of options. Here is a general guide on how the search and radius and results interact.

Usually no results found indicates your radius may be too low.
    See Documentation on Radius behavior
and other useful tips on the docs page
Check what your radius default is, is it a large enough radius

If you do not want to change your radius or show locations then provide more detailed isntructions.
You can select “use current Map” under Map panel where you have chouce of World or Current. Also if all your locations are in NY you can add the shortcode to that page

Here is a list of all the shortcodes available to you

Or you may Opt to use the Search Form widget that will have drop down of all the locations and state

    Christy,

Thank you for your question. We need additional in formation when you post in the forums. Please provide your Plugin environment per the posting guidelines/

In the meantime, please read these useful tips in our documentation.  Even though less than 200 locations does not qualify as being a large list, some of the information can really help you out. Read the paragraph about browser and connection time out.  If it is your browser or even your PHP version being too low, or if you are on a shared host, you can try to skip geocoding at first.

    Niall,

I took these steps to recreate your issue. I found your account. I downloaded the version of ProPack. I went into my account and deleted my version of ProPack, I deactivated any of the plugin add-ons I had so that I would only have proPack and SLP. I activated ProPack it activated as 4.6.4 SLP is also 4.6.4 I have import.  I then went to the Import choose file, I uploaded a CSV file I had. It uploaded and added my locations, no problem whatsoever.

Please follow the steps exactly as outlined above.

Here are screenshots of my plugin environment. If yours is different, for instance if you have multi sites or did not deactivate and delete please let me know.
