    @Peter

Can you double check this. Lance said he had fixed the Issue with PhP 8  — there was a comment line that PHP8 didn’t like.  That has been addressed.

How to debug to make sure there is no conflicts with theme or other Plug-ins.  Especially if you see issues in the back end in admin panels

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/debugging-with-debug-log/

In the past a plug-in such as Smush caused issues with adding Locations in the back end so best bet into turn off other plug-ins one by one to see if they may be interfering

We do not have a version 5.3 to provide you which is why we always mention you should have a back up before doing any updates to any plug-ins.

We need to see you Plug-in environment  (see posting guidelines) . What you have provided us does not provide any information .. Also need the site you are deploying the plug-in on.   Do you have JS script errors

I have not tested with WP version 6.  Everything is working on the WP 5.8.4 that I have tested.

We always wait before updating a major version release of Word Press because it can be buggy.   See WORDPRESS warnings before Updating as well

From their support channel   “So you’ve just updated to WordPress 6.0! But what’s this? Something broke? Or maybe you just have some questions you want to ask? This will help guide you through both troubleshooting, and common questions after the new update.

If your site broke, don’t panic!

Before you go any further, make sure you’ve updated your plugins and themes to the latest versions, clear your browser’s cache and cookies and re-log in to your WordPress dashboard.

    So first suggestion

If you roll back Word Press to an earlier version do you see any issues.

We do have a newer version of the plug-in that can be purchased from this website. ( SLP plug-in) Going forward the plug-in version will only be updated if there is a major change that breaks the operation of the plug-in. Please refer to the News feed above for updates and  instructions for manual download The plugin is compatible with the PHP version you are using. There have been reports that it is not compatible at this time with PhP 8.

    Jason,

I believe you sent an email to support.

As mentioned in above posts the SLP plug-in does work on PHP 7.4. You did not purchase older versions but have recently purchased the latest version.

browsers will not open the url you provided   because it is not secure. You need to follow the guidelines for correctly migrating your site and/or obtaining an updated SSL.

The SLP plug-in works with PHP 7.4.
Deactivate all plug-ins before activating SLP. Follow these directions
You should be using a dev or clone site to update and test.

WPML is useful  for  back -end translations.

You could always sign up for and transfer to the professional level plan under SLP SaaS which is a monthly subscription.

What Button ?  I do not see anything on the dev url other than a picture.  I browse the page source and do not see our plugin installed on the dev site.

When I visit the reg  site. https://realsaboaria.com/contactos/

and select ENGLISH I see your map with the search .  I cannot assist you on your dev site but you can search our documentation on how to change labels etc. but the page that exists on the production site where you do have SLP installed looks correct. You have a contact form plug-in that is not us.

    All

HP 8.0 is a major version update with a large number of changes that break backwards compatibility, and many features that were deprecated within the PHP 7.x feature releases have been officially removed. PHP 8 uses much stricter typing than previous versions. Many built-in functions are now pickier about the input they accept, and PHP 8 itself is more stringent about how input is passed to functions. Issues that previously resulted in notices now result in warnings, and issues that previously resulted in warnings now result in errors.

In other words, PHP 8 is not as lenient as previous versions. It will not try quite as hard to make code work no matter what.

Since the majority of our customers have not updates to PHP 8, we will not be tacking this in the near future.

The developer suggests you NOT update to PHP 8 because of the issue with backwards compatibility.

    hello,

All of the plugins and add-ons  you are showing are out  of date.

If you are  still a Premier customer in good standing you should be able to see the base SLP version 5.12.3 under your downloads in your account ditto with any updates ( I would only update on a dev or clone or staging site though since you are so far behind)

As fares the SEO Pages question let me try to get a picture in my mind since  I am not following   how you currently have the SEO Page Template and the results  layout set up .

I see on that URL  you have changed the normal website hyperlink  title label to “dealer details”.  So you want to use both  a  Website link that does not redirect and the  SEO Pages?   Currently the dealer details redirects correct?

    See if these docs help

Here is the article explaining this

Report this error to Google. As mentioned you can add search info for your customers or use discrete search.

Yes, Because I have a test site and if all I do is enter 13158 it also goes to Berlin.

Yet if you search using the Google commercial MAP it goes to NY .

You can add additional information in the search field that instructs your site visitors to enter a more discrete search. Such as enter by City, etc. And you would want to have your drop down radius visible.

See how the two searches look on my test site.

You have Javascript errors on that page.

    See attached.

If you are using the SLP plug-in and not our SLP SaaS (managed by our team)  Any results being returned is straight from Google and not from us.

    Hello,

Even though this is beyond our scope of support, did you ever add a valid  API key required by Google . When I use browser tools to inspect the error that keeps coming up is that API key is invalid. Did you add restrictors?  You can research what the error messages are by clicking on any developers tool in Firefox Chrome, etc.

If dealing with the API keys is too confusing you might be a candidate for the SLP SaaS option where we handle the keys and updates.

Where is your center of MAP you only have the drop down going up to 500km, if you increase the drop down to a higher number and search what do you see?

    Hello,

The screen shot does not really provide us with anything to go on.  if  the location data  isn’t in the Locations database and your center map at is more than 200 km from your name , then it won’t be found.

Also make sure you have cleared the cache

I checked and indeed if I search by the postal code 3028 it works no problem on my test site as well as your site.

Suggest you change your search label to stipulate to add the postal code not suburb/town

    C,

I changed some settings on my site and , like you Google has decided that Laverton is in WA.  The good thing about having to pay for Google API services with the plug-in version is that you have access to their Support.  If all else fails please reach out to Google and tell them what you are experiencing. They might tell you that your site visitors still need to add either a state or a Postal code and not just search by town/city since even when you search using Googles own browser they always return the Laverton WA,  they have a reference that the other Laverton is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia,

So at the very least they probably want a postal code in addition since there are two

Without additional information such as versions plug-in info (see Posting in forums guidelines). I might not be able to provide you with the best answer.

I have no idea what your radius settings are , or if you have the Google Map domain set as Australia etc etc.

The center Map at does NOT limit what Google provides as a return when a search is done.  The center map merely centers the MAP.  The search works based on radius  AND what  Google “thinks” is the  best results etc.   how Google determines what to give you as results is based on their algorithms not ours. They apparently have decided that the most believable answer to return is the town in WA not in Victoria.

If you were using the SLP SaaS we could fine tune and add certain locations thru to our data base, but we  have no way to  run interference with what Google  MAP APII determines is correct in  the self managed version  i.e. the Plug-in.  We can provide you with some suggestions

    Check under  Radius Behavior

You might also  want  to use Location sensor if the site visitors live near that town  it will narrow down the returns

Or, If you have the Premier updates and active you can also use Show Google address guess

Or if ALL your locations are limited to Victoria add some shortcodes

to the WP  Page where you have SLP

Example I use this to ensure Google returns San Jose in Costa Rica instead of the many other San Joses that Google favors .

    • [SLPLUS  center_map_at=”Costa Rica” append_to_search=”Costa Rica” initial_radius=”1000″]

You would of course need to use the parameters and fields that make sense for your situation

Did you add the images in the media file in WP and do you have a url reference?  WP Info in the developers section might help

if   you also have the Experience add-on activated there may be more options for you.  You can check some of the available shortcodes here.

    Additional EXP shortcodes

I will ask the developer if there is an easier way to do what you want. He is not able to take on customizations currently.

if you are using any SEO Pages criteria you need to check that off
