CiciKeymaster
Kudos to you for even searching the forums for answers. I have been on the WP4.5 master list researching issues and monitoring this site. Sometimes it is an easy solution to help people, but this one is not one of those times. we are searching a lot of different versions and customer sites to see if it is universal. So far it is universal,,, 44505 is in the Ukraine..its definitely Google API
CiciKeymasterWe wish you could help, to…. even on Google Map API developer site they are sending us to the Ukraine, maybe you are right, maybe they have been hijacked. Lance has just shared this with me:
Here is a way to test if region influence works:
http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=Toledo®ion=ES
Versus
http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=Toledo®ion=USTop one is Spain. Bottom is USA.Have an address that is not working? Try this first…When your map domain in USA the ®ion=US is what we send to Google…. this URL uses the same service as the Google Maps JavaScript API.Now back to the regularly scheduled channel…The only thing that is helping is the append feature in Enhanced Search or the Experience Add-on…which isnt actually good for customers with international sites who do not wish to steer everyone to one country.
BTW: Are all your locations in US..?
CiciKeymasterThank you for the kind words….if you wouldn’t mind posting that in our WP SLP reviews. We don’t pay people to post great reviews like some other plugin authors do (its not legal in WP so I am only allowed to mention it) so you get to see the good bad and the ugly. And some people do not seem to like my support.
🙁
CiciKeymasterHi Tabitha
The developer is investigating and he is baffled as to why Google is deciding that 44505 is not in Ohio even when we have our maps set to US domain.
This is very important to us to figure out, thank you for revealing this issue…the midnight oil is burning, hoping that Google wakes up before the morning.
CiciKeymasterHi Tabitha,
Oh Blech, that is bizarre I just tested that zip code on my site and I got thrown into Poland (because I have no locations in my map with a 44505 zip code) So I added an address using 44505 Younstown Ohio and then searched and you are right I got thrown into Poland or wherever…yet Google loaded the correct lat/long..
I am baffled!
The post you showed was from 2013. and all that was fixed , but Lance had a link in there for a blog…and I am wondering what the heck Google is doing now! Lance has multiple Blogs about Google Maps.
There were some issues a while back when Lance changed the Google Map domain to go international the way the Google business people told him, found out that method was not kind to people in Australia, and other countries.
The article he posted about Google Maps
Of course none of this is helping you. I am putting this on LAnces radar to see if he can find out anything that may be causing google maps to not read the post code correctly…otherwise everyone in Ohio will be taking a plane to Poland …or Ukraine.
🙁

CiciKeymasterSide Note:
WordPress upgrades to 4.5 broke some themes that were using old jquery versions. Contact your theme author to see if they have updated to be compatible with the latest versions
April 15, 2016 at 5:34 PM in reply to: Google Maps API Warning Error no-api-keys Map Blank but search form is good #40465CiciKeymasterP.S. The warning about the Google Maps API is because Google wants everyone to use it on their sites. That doesn’t indicate SLP doesn’t use it, (we do) or that you HAVE to have one , at least for the time being until Google makes it an issue. . I should have read your query and your site more carefully, if you see a message about Multiple Maps then another plugin or theme is doing something with the map in background as well.
Sorry if I added my confusion to the mix… the real issue you are having , the map not loading with your theme enabled is totally different then the google warning (which is just a warning…you can get a free API key, we have tutorials on that as well)
April 15, 2016 at 5:28 PM in reply to: Google Maps API Warning Error no-api-keys Map Blank but search form is good #40464CiciKeymasterHi Michael,
No problem, I am monitoring the forums closely , especially whenever there is a major update in WP…well you know the saying..shit happens.. and the Map is right there in your face, so lots of people assume it is SLP. See the WP 4.5 masterlist issues posts, they mention some themes with issues so you know there is more than likely lots more.
You can assume that if SLP works when you use 2015 theme and then it doesn’t work with your themes turned on that it is the theme causing you issues. If it is a parent theme causing the issue, I suggest you contact the theme author, that is what WP is suggesting in their forums. They even have a few known conflicts in there You might want to ask them if they have anything in there that is forcing Javascript as well.
There is a Forceload Javascript setting and a turn off SLp maps under General/User Interface. Check to make sure that is not checked, The setting is there for the few bad themes that are not using the standard best practices…it is not suggested you use that setting ..if you need to use that setting now or if you have used that in the past, then your theme is not friendly and doesn’t play well with others. there is some info about Map issues that might help you under the Troubleshooting section
As mentioned by Lance the No Google Map API is just a warning.
CiciKeymasterHi Tabitha
Is this your site , Sydney candle? (see attached) I entered ONLY my zip code 29464 and it went to Mount Pleasant SC,,, bingo
I then searched another zip code I know, 01886 it went to Westford MA…perfect..
What are you searching that is coming up different?
Make sure you have the Google Map domain and the callback long/lat set where your main stores are located so that if Google server is busy it doesn’t come back with crazy locations.
I mention this because, your site with the map page on it was slow to load but that is probably because you have PHP 5.3 and I am guessing you may be on a shared hosting site…that will effect the time of loading and also will effect your Google map queries.
Let me know if you are still having issues after you clear your cache and refresh. (See WP forum support about 4.5 and clearing caches, other plugins were not updating)

Once you update SLP to 4.4.37, Go to your account and download ProPack current version.
I did not see any orders for Store Pages under your account name. Please provide your Plugin environmnet and site url so that I may better assist you.
If you have found what you need to work around this I will close this particular post.
April 15, 2016 at 12:08 PM in reply to: Google Maps API Warning Error no-api-keys Map Blank but search form is good #40450CiciKeymasterHi Michael..,
Lance is out at the moment. There have been a lot of conflicts posted about themes and plugins breaking because they did not update to test with 4.5.
Lance found this one:
https://make.wordpress.org/core/2016/02/17/backbone-and-underscore-updated-to-latest-versions/
Check to see if any of your plugins are using Backbone or Underscore.
Did you check the WP 4.5 support forum suggestions and info?
CiciKeymasterThis is an excerpt from the WP rules for posting in their forums and a very good point about starting a new TOPIC.
“Do make your own topic unless you are using the exact same version of Store Locator Plus and WordPress and on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme and configurations as the original poster. You may find it weird, but it will be easier for us to help you specifically if you have your own topic.”
CiciKeymasterSee WP issues and information on WP about possible conflicts and issues
See WP 4.5 support information about the upgrade:
In preparation for the WP 4.5 update Lance has been developing and testing every change and release of SLP 4.4.xx using WP 4.5 since before it was released for production. He has been developing and testing with the WP 4.5 beta for developers to ensure SLP works.
I have updated my test site with SLP 4.4.37. all the latest add-ons etc. installed and WP 4.5 and it works perfectly at this time. I will continue to test the individual add-ons. I have also checked the SLP customer sites and the Maps are working on those from what I have tested reviewing them under the customer demo list , (See Demo customers)
Conclusion: It is most likely another Plugin or Theme that is using code or library that is breaking and effecting SLP. You can check the WP debugger or use Firefox to see what lines are broken and thus which plugins are effected
If you read what we requested above of the original poster, Rachael , Without your Plugin Environment or your site url we cant point you in the right direction. Glomming (as in me too) does not provide us the info we need to assist you. Please refer to the Posting Guidelines…it is ok to add to the post, but you must provide your information, everyone has different plugins, different themes, different configurations so one size does not fit all.
I always have my SLP updated to the current release, so I am not sure what you should update first. I do not think it matters for the WP4.5 unless you have a really old version of SLP…as mentioned in above , without plugin environment we cant assist you, but you should look at the articles and see if you have any plugins or themes that have the quirks and issues and address those there.
” Excerpt from WP” Plugins or themes that rely on the bundled Backbone and/or Underscore libraries should carefully check functionality with the latest versions and run any available unit tests to ensure compatibility.
CiciKeymasterHi Rachael,
All of Store Locator Plugins are on 4.4. now. Except Enhanced Results, Enhanced Search, and Widgets they are Legacy since they are now part of the newer Experience Add-on.
, but they will work with SLP 4.4.37
Multi Map is not being maintained, it is a third party Plugin and has many problems so we suggest not using that.
Directory Builder and Extended Data Manager are also on versions 4.4.xx and should be updated
Suggest you update what you can in SLP and see if it works.
Other plugins are breaking from I can tell in the WP forums..such as Visual Composer etc.
You might want to check that forum out as well.
April 14, 2016 at 12:04 PM in reply to: Google Maps API Warning Error no-api-keys Map Blank but search form is good #40415CiciKeymasterIf you are receiving that warning then there is another plugin or possibly your theme that is also trying to Load Google maps and that will break SLP Map
Also if any Plugin or theme is forcing their own version of jquery, or a lower than 1.11 version , that is outside of the WP rules and best practices..
perhaps updating to WP 4.5 brought that to light and they may have made those conflicts more apparent.I believe your issue is with this theme:
Inspect the Console and the error and it points to your Nivoslider:
CiciKeymasterHi Rachael,
I just updated and tested my site and No issues found…Lance has been building and testing against WP 4.5 since they had a pre release…so it should be fine.
What versions of SLP and add-ons are you using?
Could you provide your SLP Plug In environment (see Posting Guidelines)
CiciKeymasterLance has found some quirks and strings in the base plugin that could effect ProPack …I am not sure if this would effect you
He tried running a test site in Spanish (no translation file for Pro Pack) and the tags section is showing up properly.
It isn’t out in pre release as yet but when it does come out , if you want to help us test it, that would be awesome. I am not sure if it will be v 4.4.38 or if he is ready to launch 4.5 to stay in sync with the WP updates
eventually he is hoping to only use the WP translation files instead of the local translations in the SLP .po .mo directories
CiciKeymasterYou can still export locations to a csv file, it is still under the Locations tab under Bulk actions, (see attached)
The new back end Admin UI looks different.
Under the reports,
I tried the Export top results to csv and it is exporting perfectly…but the Top searches export csv file doesn’t look right to me…so I am adding that to a fix for Lance to look at next time he updates..
Is that the one you are trying to export?
P.S. I cant see your plugin environment, the screenshot you have is of the info page not the Plugin environment.

You must be logged in to view attached files.CiciKeymasterNIX all the other info I provided you before about CSS
Lance said that was initiated for a customer who wanted two sets of instructions, one on search and one when No results found comes back…
I will write more info in Docs site, I don’t know when that changed, lance will move it to somewhere more obvious in future release…
This is where the documentation about that Lable is , with screen shots…That option only APPEARS if you have Experience add-on, and it is set as the default.
CiciKeymasterI misspoke
It is the label under RESULTS
(Instructions for no results found,) it is under Experience/Results/labels/instructions
blank it out
sorrryyy…I am tired and brain dead.
CiciKeymasterP.S. you can see all your settings using Janitor as well, just be careful when using Janitor. you can reset or blank out array settings but first check out the search layout shortcodes and CSS to see if you can change there first.
CiciKeymasterHi James,
Search Layout Shortcodes and attrributes
Which SLP plugin style are you using? Look at the help text next to the Experience Search/Search Box Label
The label that goes in the search form box header, for plugin themes that support it. Put this in a search form using the [slp_option nojs=”search_box_title”] shortcode.
Selecting and customizing Plugin styles
If I had your locator page url I would be able to inspect it with the Chrome or Firefox developer tools to see where its coming from.
If you need help with using either the CSS or inspect elements debugging tools there are some tutorial videos on the SLP you tube channel
(Links to various Playlists booth new and old under Documentation)
CiciKeymasterR_
Please provide your Plugin Environment and the site url so we can better assist you..(see posting guidelines at top of forum ) .
I do not know which versions you are using or if any add-ons…. There were some people who had lower PHP versions (not advised but I cant tell if this is you) that caused JSON issues, so you would have to update to current version to allow for a PHP v 5.2 for instance and you would need to update to SLP 4.4.37
If you have the latest version of SLP there is a setting under Experience/Map for a “Fallback” lat/long if the Google server is busy
Info about Geocoding Google API fail
CiciKeymasterIf there is more info you can provide us about the reports section, a screenshot? I will add it for Lance to look into it if there is an issue with reports…thanks
CiciKeymasterSLP is free, ProPack is $65 as shown in the product page, ditto Pages
