P.S. I am confused, did you change domains or your site?  When you say it never worked that creates some concern that you have an issue with your entire site or your site configuration or do you have a multi site? OLD ProPack isnt going to work better than Power, and if you have a conflict , then it is a universal conflict with something else, perhaps another plugin or the server configuration…and you need to be troubleshooting. I would suggest you try the Troubleshooting or send a request to have the developer Log in , that is a paid support option though, so if you are adept at WordPress and javascript or debugging try the WP debugger first.

Its difficult to advise you if you do not provide your site url. Are using multisite NAM?

Need your Plugin info, a screenshot of the Tab under SLP Info/Plugin environment shows us your version of WP as well. Can you provide the URL?

Are you trying to “duplicate and update” or just delete all?  I sent you an email with screen shot do you have that Bulk, Delete, the APPLY TO ALL button?

You do not need Janitor for this.  How many locations are being shown on the back end ADMNI panel locations page? 10, 50, 10,ooo? If the page is too big you can reset manage locations under General/Admin/Locations/reset manage

As far as Duplicate imports, it works for me,  are you using Skip , or update?

Do you have PAGES turned on or off?

If you are importing  and want to use the duplicate feature to update existing locations, do you have the sl_id column?\

Until I hear back, here is some docs info for you.

Adrienne Thank you for the update. Your theme developer added the Google MAP API requirement in his code or they always had it and your user was changing the way it was used?  Everyone wants to make their product the best. Unfortunately we cannot strip down SLP so that it is no longer a MAP and LOCATOR plugin that would mean it is not what it is advertised to be. SLP has ALWAYS used javascript and Google  API.  Google never required an  individual site API key before , and  any domains already in existence prior to June 22 2016 were grandfathered and not required to get a Google Map API key.  Regradless if you had two plugins or a theme and a plugin both using the Google API there would be a conflict , now Google is making it obvious , i.e by showing you the ERROR MESSAGES. The  SLP author and developer knew that Google was heading in the direction of requiring MAP API keys and added in the line where you added your Google MAP API key. We keep up to date with any changes to Google geocoding, MAPs, APis jquery , WP codex and requirements because its the business we are in. He has been doing this for many years and is not a fly by night, Many plugins become orphans.

    https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/q-my-map-is-not-showing-up-what-did-i-do-wrong/

Your theme developer is not in the geocoding and locator  business primarily are they?  Either way,  pointing fingers is futile. We did NOT change the Google MAP API key or how the jquery worked.  Since you are keeping that theme there is not much of an alternative regarding SLP or any other locator /map plugin that uses google MAP API.  We always suggest that any site, (especially one with clients), have back-ups and/or a virtual site to test on before updating themes or plugins. That way you can see what changes will happen and roll back if needed.

Now we are off subject of this post and I will need to close it.

P.S. If you have multiple clients using SLP,  you  are required to have the Premier Subscription.

Adrienne, I hope that means you are NOT recommending their theme to be used with SLP.  The multiple GOOGLE MAP API errors come directly from Google developer console , not SLP.   If our plugin was generating those error messages (after all it is a geocoding map locator plugin) we would be receiving thousands of emails and complaints.   I believe we addressed this in forum posts, but it is good to know that the Bodega theme has issues. Perhaps there are other plugins that are creating interference.   To test it out, if you have a developer or staging site, or virtual site, try an out of the box theme download from WordPress  and add SLP .  I will guarantee you will not see multiple Google MAP API or grey map issues.  Thanks.

You need to loOk at any other plugins, for instance we have heard reports that the CONTACT FORM 7 added Google MAP API

    Your first reference of Client

    http://ritmullerusa.com/locations/

that isn’t their ENTIRE  plugin environment.  They have the POWER  add-on with CSS rules.  (This is why we ask for a screen shot of the plugin environment not merely a typed in answer.  ) So make sure they have latest versions of the plugins and the ADD-ONS. So I am guessing if they own both sites that they also have Power on the other one as well.

They are using a lot of CSS rules and plugins that also are querying Google MAPS API. They can try “turning off SLP Maps” and only use the theme map

Use Firefox  to debug and check for errors, instructions are in the Troubleshooting , under Map issues. Please post the results from the  Debugging log here .  Alternatively , if we  (the developer here)  troubleshoots and logs into their site that is a paid support option, but since they have paid you perhaps you can do the debugging and take it from there)

If there them has a place for Google Map API that means they use it whether or not  you have entered the API there or not.

If you use Firefox debugger, you will see  queryimg Google MAPS API. The theme  has a bug in it and drops the dynamic CSS rules.

    You are also seeing this:

console.error(“This site adds property <“+a+”> to Object.prototype. Extending Object.prototype breaks JavaScript for..in loops, which are used heavily in Google Maps API v3.”)

I have been talking to Angela about the subscription. Do you not have access to the premier subscription because you are not the owner but the developer?  You should be using current versions of POWER and EXPERIENCE Add-ons.  They are both 4.7.1

The LEGACY versions are not being updated and the individual add-ons will not be updated.  Your screen shot shows all old versions that are part of Power (ProPAck, Directory Builder, Pages ) and Experience (Enhanced Results, Enhanced Search, anything Enhanced and Widgets) Please discuss with your client.

You do not do everything with just shortcodes alone, there are built in settings that need to be turned on. For instance, the Experience Add-on Settings for discrete search must be on. (P.s Experience has an update to 4.7.1 as well, see versions )

    A) From the settings under the Experience tabs, set the default radius to something HUGE, next
turn on “discrete search unless address input”

    and/or

    B) use the shortcode options in ADDITION to what you have set initial radius via shortcode attribute
set center map at via shortcode attribute but
DISCRETE still needs to be turned on in your global setting

    C) some combination of the above to get your desired outcome

See the documentation site about how Store Locator Plus  search and results and radius  behavior  work.  If you do NOT turn on discrete settings then it will look for the first X places within your given radius from the center of the map.  With Premier there are even more options such as Directory list by states

This is a very robust plugin with the Premier,Power,Experience add-ons. There are a lot of different settings and combinations to get the desired effect.  Premier is for advanced users, and should contain everything you need. It is difficult to write the documentation for each case scenario since there are over 20,000 sites using the base Store Locator Plus plugin and over 10,000 more using it with combination of add-ons at any given moment. Most are developing or publishing unique sites.

I am trying to add more and more documentation, some people get confused by too much and others complain not enough. Best is to use keywords, Ive tried to add as many tags to search by as possible. , There is a tag list on teh side menu of the docs site as well.

You need to uninstall the inactive plugins “Enhanced Map and Enhanced Search” they are replaced by Experience…You cannot install Enhanced, etc  and Experience Add-ons at the same time. You shouldn’t even have those in your account unless you purchased them before. Just IGNORE them, they do not work with Experience Add-on, Experience add-on replaced them. Its an either or not both to use per domain.

Ditto with the DB, Page etc  You will get error messages if you try to use those with Power Add-on.  They need to be deleted, not installed.  See the Legacy vs replacements

Bottom line if it does not have the word Premier in front of it do not use it. If it says Legacy do not use it.

Pages Templates changed with WP 4.5, I do not know what you are using to create the Page templates, but you cannot use the old references and framework and create new ones. Did you try to transfer over from an old site?

You are using the shortcodes incorrectly, unless your theme allows for it, and apparently it does not.  You are trying to create a Directory builder within a Page template?  I do not understand what you are trying to do. I will have the developer take a look , perhaps he can figure something out for you.

In the mean time did you watch the tutorials and read the documentation?

Could you take a screen shot of your plugin and provide the WordPress info requested per the posting guidelines, all the shortcodes are working for me so I am not sure where you are putting them.   You cannot have the forceload Javascript checked off or they wont work.

Don’t forget your maps are pulling from the same locations in the location manager and the radius and search settings etc will effect all the results.

There are a few different ways you can achieve your results depending what you are trying to ultimately do .  You could use the directory Landing page feature as well

I have a few locator pages for a couple of countries , I use the shortcode SLPLUS center map at =

    such as [SLPLUS center_map_at=”Brisbane,Australia”]

and then lower the distance under results  for the radius search so that when on that page you will have the results within the distance and have the results be closest farthest.

    See https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/results-order-by-display/

We do not have a mulit- map function where you can change the settings per each map page.

You can also use  Widgets on your search page to direct to the different countries or cities.  But if you are having a problem with shortcodes working you are either using them incorrectly or you have a plugin, theme  interfering or the forceload javascript setting on.

    Thanks John,

Did you know you are still getting errors on your url locator page? But perhaps the utl you provided before is not going to be the new site page.  Yes there are many abandoned or poorly written themes out there. If you need help with developing a new theme, you can check out cybersprocket.com

The failed to load resources just indicate that the file path for the icons are no longer valid. We suggest adding your icons to your WP media library and have the link point there to load them.

See under the description of premier product.

Just so you understand the idea, It is not live chat “support” per se………it is live chat in the developers channel where you can see what they are discussing or  if they are working and  in  the SLP “code mode” , you can also see the latest tweets.  It is  most useful  for advanced coders who have been using Store Locator Plus for a while.

A lot of the same info is on the side panel of this forum… as you can see Premier 4.7.1 was released and the developer posted a new video on it.

If you need additional support, this is where to post for first tier support.  The live chat slack channel is not “one- on -one” support.  If a developer or other member is online they might answer some of your general questions.  Just be aware,, the developer will not stop coding to answer specific questions as you can imagine that can be a bit of a distraction. But you are welcome to send in a request for access to the channel.

Otherwise, If you need specific troubleshooting or next business  day email support that is customarily a paid support option.

I do not know what versions you are using but Tagalong version in that blog was 1.1 and  is not the version you should be using . The article you reference that announced the version release  is over 3 years old, that isn’t current documentation. It was accurate three years ago. The current docs site is here

Have you updated and are you using  Power? if so you should see a Categories tab , Have you installed the  Experience add-on? What versions of what are you using ? Please follow the Posting guidelines so we can better assist you.

The documentation for the Legend for icon array etc is here,

Hi, I am not sure what you are trying to do but you cannot put a shortcode where the WP title of a page , where a  permalink  will be created.  See the SLP  documentation.

    and more docs on directory

The  shortcodes should be in the text area on the PAGE in WordPress not in the area reserved for the title of your WP page

    Hi Derek,

    1) Distance from center of map is the correct approach unless you have location sensor on

    2)  We have found that Google changing some of their algorithms has messed up a lot of plugins that use the Google Map APIs, not just Store Locator Plus, everyone!   The developer tackled a similar issue years ago with zoom adjustments.  If you need immediate help or troubleshooting with him logging into your site we require the Login (Paid ) support option to open a support request. Otherwise we do not delve into a customer’s site by logging on as it opens up too many liabilities. P.S. When I tried to search your site url, it appears it is part of a large network not just one business and the  site url you provided requires a login . I cannot inspect  sites that require me to  login.   If you need a coupon for Premier (for use when you have multi-sites) please contact support.

Its still an issue with your theme and now more precisely the  CSS that was  written.  There should be a child theme tin there that needs to be fixed, the  window is resizing with no bars hold . This is not an issue with SLP, you can try to choose a different SLP  plugin style to complement your theme but I cant do much about the responsive design and what they have done in this normal support forum. If you need an overhaul of your WP site and theme I would suggest CyberSprocket labs

You do not have the same issue , and you need to provide your Plugin environment.

How to limit searches and get more accurate results , 1)  I would change Map domain to Australia

but Google is fooling around with the map algorithms again as they keep trying to outsmart the third party API and force businesses to favor Google ADS.

     see developers post.

But we do have some tools to work around it.

    1) You can use the append feature (Part of Experience addon) that should help a bit , and 2) add instructions in label  for the user  to be  more specific in the search form label

    3)  have discrete search filters on.

    See documentation on how to

Well isnt that special..drat I was hoping it was your location sensor

As far as LT/LON..SLP does not set the longitude nor latitude…your query goes direct to Google, but this does bring up an interesting theory that Lance and I were discussing at lunch. I wonder if it has to do with the Google new algorithm for  addresses that he wrote a post about.

Back to your specific question, using Denver as an example.   I went back and checked and Google set DENVER CO lat as -104.990251  just like you said. So I then went to the commercial Google MAPS  using  Chrome….and just  typed in basic search  as  Denver CO (no address) and this is what I got back:

    https://www.google.com/maps/place/Denver,+CO/@39.7645183,-104.9955385,11z

So that matches what I have in the back end of SLP….(Are you putting in a more specific address?)

Then Iwent back into the browser and searched Google using the Lat / but different Long that you suggested. I searched for 39.7392358, -105.1352965  and what came back on Google Maps is a specific address , zoom in and it is for Golden Hill cemetery ,,,, are they kidding ?? Cause it doesn’t look like the center of Denver CO when you zoom out again, it is west of it.

With my example I had added a TGIF , so on front end when I search by zip code the distance is coming up right as being 1.1 miles from center of Denver CO

There is an issue somewhere though when I go back and forth  I am having a problem with my map zoom when I have disable initial directory set.  I need to test some more but I don’t think I will have  time until after the holidays since I have family coming in tomorrow.

Ill have to talk to Lance about it and make a note to have him look at this post. If it is relevant to what you guys  are testing on the beta with him mention it.

P.S. Lance’s post after a customer and I found the misinformation coming back from Google recently:
