You can add the shortcode [tagalong legend] to that and any layout but it will not loo very nice unless you tweak it and put it n the right spot.
I used the Default Legend below style for best results.

I will add those tags thanks”they will pretty much go to this page that explains it

The plugin? You mean the business correct?

here is the link to OUR privacy policy and also it is at the bottom of this page and every SLP page.

If you use our plugin on YOUR sites, you need to have your own Privacy policy iaw Wp 4.9.6.

I am not sure what you have available to you because all of the add-ons and your site is not on current versions.

Thank you for letting us know about the docs misdirect. Lance changed some of the tags to be smart options and I needed to correct the links in the docs page, I missed a few apparently. I just fixed it to go here but I will need to update that docs page to talk about plugin styles as well.

https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/store-and-category-manager/

Could you provide your SLP plugin environment (versions) and also which SLP Plugin style are you using under view?
Some work better then others but I will report this to the developer if after changing plugin styles or adding the taglong legend shortcode they still do not display.

You can also add the shortcode under the view results layout:

Where the zip code search sends you is a Google issue not an SLP issue.

But one issue that you have, is that you are not running on a secure site. because of this, Location sensor is not working. For instance I visited your site and typed in 29484, the locations in results load but the ones nearest me (since I am in Charleston) did not load first. If you had a secure site and enabled Location sensor that one would come up first I assume.

(There may be a time in the future when Google Maps restrict unsecured sites further. Have you read the news feeds about the requirements to have a Google API key and add a billing account to it?)

Since Google is not recognizing the zip code for Perry SC, you may need to put a description in the search form to tell people that both a zip code and city is needed. When I typed in Perry SC in your search box it did return correctly.
If you do not wish to do that you can try the append to search shortcode to be conditional. I do this for countries (like osta Rica) that Google likes to ignore. Are all your locations in the US and the Southeast? If so you can add the shortcode on the page something like this (inside your shortcode brackets)

[SLPLUS map_region=”us” center_map_at=”Aiken,SC”,initial_radius=”1000″ append_to_search=”United States”]

You shouldn’t need to do all that but it will help if google is refusing to recognize your zip codes as is.

Or, since you have Premier, you can use the Settings/Search/Auto-complete-zipcode….and when someone begins typing in a zipcode it will fill in after the first three from your data set.
See the documentation for all these tools.

https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/mixed-content-warnings-site-migration/

Is there a reason why you have not updated to the latest versions of SLP, Premier,Power, experience etc as yet? Thought that was something you were working towards…. with the versions you are running now I am afraid I cannot test anything or provide much guidance as we no longer are working with those versions. If it worked before the way it is, then the answer is simply that google changed their algorithms like they constantly do to misdirect and you will need to tell your customers to provide more details in their search or try some of the other tools I suggested..

Thank you, the developer will fix it in the next Premier update!!

in reply to: Zip code shows NO LOCATIONS FOUND. #56566
Cici

P.S. I have recently tested on my test site and indeed Google is ignoring the “zip” or Postal code 2000 for Sydney and all other postal codes in Australia are returning properly. No idea what is going on with Google but I searched in the Google developers issues here:https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/72122489

and apparently in January 2018 Google changed the filtering , they called it ‘New Forward Geocoding” and the suggestion in Stack overflow was to be more specific with filtering. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/48346019/geocode-component-filtering-with-field-locality-not-working-as-expected

So I went back to test on my site. If I added the City Sydney and the zip 2000 it came back with all the locations and data sets I have in my dataset for Sydney . If I type in just Sydney in the search box, it also returned all the locations in Sydney. But if I JUST use the zip or postal code 2000 I get No results even though their are results in my dataset

So until the SLP developer can find yet another work around for Googles new found screw ups, the best suggestion I can give you is to add labels or text in the search box instructing the viewer/visitor to enter the address/ city NOT just postal code. Another suggestion could be to use the discrete filter by drop down widget to show the Locations by City. Also a heads up…Google is adding another layer of tom foolery June 11, 2018 requiring all APIs to have a billing account. Please read the latest news for more info.

regarding the hide info bubble: Please let us know what plugin style you are using when you post again after updating

If you deactivate the plug-in and add-ons you should see an update now in the admin panel.

The best method of providing info is to provide a screenshot of the SLP INFO Plugin environment. That provides us a snapshot of other important info such as PhP version, WP version, MySQL, site url.

I havens heard any reports about the “report” setting not sticking, so there could be something about your site configuration but neither the developer nor support will troubleshoot an older version of the plug-in or add-ons since there have been patches and fixes since then.

Not sure what you mean about last time since I have no information about your url or the client I really cannot provide much more info but in either case
you should always be backing up your site so that there is a recent back-up to restore to
if needed. I am sure you have told your client about the importance of paying for that type of service in any event.

As far as if you need to do a manual download/upload:
If the client paid the developer for the add-ons they should be able to ask him for the log-in (user) name in case they ever need to do a manual download. If the developer owns them they would have to contact support or re-purchase if support cannot see any cross reference for purchases.

Please also make sure to check recent news and posts as we provide important information about changes. There is one coming up soon that will effect every single user. Google is going to require a billing account on file for every single API starting June 11. I will be publishing a blog about it. You may want to let your client know now. This will apply to every single Locator program or plug-in that currently uses Google API keys.

Can you provide your Plugin Environment?

I have no idea what version you are using. The latest version of SLP version 4.9.14 has been changed to use Vueify which should make it much easier to see the edit locations page now . There are many settings and features available, depending on whether you have add-ons or premier. The markers can now be saved in the WP media and the url should not need to be changed once established.

Do you have a specific question?

We do not have a “Temporary” access pass that would allow you to convert and update everything. You could try out our demo but that will not help you with the data in your clients site. As far as hiring our developer, unfortunately he is totally booked for the next month with a large client.

You really need to get something that will allow you to have a staging site to test and update with. https://jetpack.com/support/staging-sites/

If so , there are fatal errors according to Google. you have mixed content. Apparently you did go from http to https. Did you add a Google APi key?

jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:4 Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://www.licares.org/find-help/food-locator/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure XMLHttpRequest endpoint ‘http://www.licares.org/wp-content/plugins/store-locator-le/images/icons/box_green_supermarket.png’. That is the Map marker that is pointing to your old site domain. But again, as you mentioned you are having issues with updating locations because of the version of SLP and add-ons. That is something you will want to address when , if, you update.

SLP version 3 has not been supported for a few years now.
when you auto updated WP to 4.9.5 it made SLP break. WordPress had major changes the past few updates. I am surprised that it didn’t break before now actually. In addition, if your site was migrated and you did not obtain a Google Map APi key, Google cant geocode. ***

https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/google-server-key/

*** Google is getting stricter about secure sites for location sensor (must have a site that is https, and that in turn means you will need a Google API key since that is then considered a new domain) They were grandfathering sites that were pre -2016 and not requiring sites to have a Google APi key but they are now deperecating those sites when it comes to geocoding. Additionally, Google will NOT allow location sensor to work unless you are using a valid SSL, i.e are on a secure site.

P.S. if you do update SLP to 4.9.14 none of those add-ons will work as they are Legacy and no longer supported. Those were phased out over two years ago as well. The last ones that were phased out was ProPack around Dec. unfortunately I do not have a silver bullet or solution for you on version 3, it is too outdated. You can either try to downgrade WordPress (Only if you have a back-up to restore to, it is not guaranteed) or upgrade SLP and the add-ons. I tried to find orders in our system for you but only saw one for Widgets in 2015. If you do revamp your site and need something more please contact support to advise you as to what you would need to purchase that is compatible with the new software.

The error message above says it all. You have added a referrer restriction , perhaps inadvertently. I believe Google has added some verbiage that is very misleading for the API key. Their new documentation basically tells you to add a restriction when you go to production. that is NOT desired and will break third party plugins that need a Google API key . I am not sure if they are misleading the public on purpose to drive business licenses or not but they have changed the verbiage in the past few months and I find it misleading..

get a new key and REMOVE any restrictions. The restriction makes it so you cant geocode, it restricts servers from talking to Google for geocoding. Which in turn makes it so a visitor to your site cant get the location geocoded either. If you do this as Google tells you: “select HTTP referrers (web sites)” the your web server itself, Versus surfing from their own laptops , phones or PC to access your site.

See STEP 4 under our Getting started guide (I guess I need to make the print larger now that Google has changed their verbiage or actually put STEP 4 in the fore front) it states do NOT add referrer restrictions.

Thanks for letting us know. I am guessing that your server is timing out if the CSV file isn’t in the right format or getting stuck while trying to geocode. Try “skipping: the geocode and getting the file to import first and check the locations to see if they imported the correct fields. You can then go back and check off under the bulk actions to geocode all.
Other geocoding error messages you may see if they are over the query limit etc.
https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/geocoding-errors/

useful information also about that sl_id column and when to use and when to not use it under the duplicate handling in documentation. If the locations do not exist you do not want the sl_id column. If they do exist , do not make up your own.

Ben,
I do not see any attached images.

I looked at your profile and you are a premier customer I believe. There were some previous posts about layouts. Note: You can post in Premier forums,. There are many Gallery styles that are exclusive to Premier customers that may work better for you. Unfortunately your attachments did not come through in this post so I cannot advise which one to use.

Are you saying you could import with an earlier version of SLp and power but cant with version 4.9.14?

A 504 error is a time out error so it is possible that you do not have a correctly formatted csv file and therefore the wheel keeps spinning. Do you see the downloaded csv file in your media library?
How large a file are you importing?

what is your site configuration, php, WP memory , General settings etc? Are you on a shared server? A screenshot of the SLP Plugin information which you can find under the SLP Plugin Info tab is preferable.

Please refer to importing docs

I cannot look at your site since you have not provided your site url, otherwise I would look to see any Google APi errors You can do this your self by using any browser developer tool and inspect , look under Console. If there are no Google MAP API errors then changing the key is not the answer. If you had a key before it will still work now.

Here are some other places to look to assist you.

Lance is working on some changes for next release using Vuejs (Vueify).

I will mention it to him to see if that will be possible to do with changing the discrete search layout by column and rows or using CSS or if it would require a customization to SLP overall. It isn’t a simple task if I recall. He is currently booked pretty much full time through the end of July with customization and development projects . After you created the Google sheets file did you download it to a CSV file and save it where you could access it, in a local directory and then upload it?

The minimum info we need to assist you:
A screenshot of your Plugin environment found under the SLP/INFO tab is best, it shows us
the SLP and WP and PHP versions, including the SLP add-ons you may have. Best method to provide this info is to capture a screenshot , under the Info tab ,
If it would be useful, please also
provide the site url page where you have the SLP locator activated

If you have a debug log please include any error information.
I cant see into your site, nor your computer , to assist you so I am afraid I need more info in order to help you.
If you are sure you have a properly formatted csv file, Check to see if your server is preventing the wp-cron.php from being triggered.
