KevinParticipant
Thanks for the info! We do have The Events Calendar installed, so I’ll try your suggestion and test.
KevinParticipantFYI, we’ve confirmed it’s not caching. The script is only loading on the one page and no others. But something is still writing to the database on other pages besides the Where to Buy page. For BlueSeal.com one of the 3 sites in our network, it writes to these two tables on several page loads and not just the Where to Buy pageHere are the two tables: wp_3_slp_rep_query_results and wp_3_slp_rep_query.
We’ll get the plugins updated ASAP and let you know if that stops the behavior.
Also, would like to be clear we are not blaming SLP, just looking for help since you know the plugin better than we do. We can’t figure out why it’s writing to the database so often and we don’t have any custom code for the site. We are using several off the shelf plugins but no modifications of our own to SLP or any other plugins for that matter. Could be a plugin conflict, could be any number of things. We are just in the process of trying to understand what’s happening so we can figure out the best solution for our case. We’ve searched quite a bit and don’t see this happening to other people and we just have no idea why it’s happening in our case either. Our host pointed out that the database writes appear to be causing the server slow down, we tracked it to the tables above and now we have no idea how this is happening every several page loads and not just the Where to Buy were SLP is lcoated.
Hope that extra information helps and any ideas you have for things for us to check would be much appreciated. I’ll update again after we get the plugins updated.

KevinParticipantCici,
Thanks for the reply. As I mentioned in the post we were able to remove the ajax javascript and that’s not the issue and appreciate the help you gave via email as well.
How we are determining that something is loading on every page is by watching the database. Every pad load ads new entries with our IP address to the database. This munged / compiled version sounds promising though, as the site is on WP Engine and and we were wondering if any special exceptions would need to be made to exclude anything related to SLP or if it’s the caching plugin. We’ve manually cleared the cache several times while testing so something must still be munging that.
We’ll look into caching and if that doesn’t sort it out we’ll check back. Thanks! We’ll also make sure we get the plugins updated. We usually do that on a weekly basis anyway.
KevinParticipantThat’s great to hear, Cici. I appreciate your help!
KevinParticipantTHANK YOU!
We are indeed using a multisite installation (I mentioned that in the comment from September 2nd above). We have three sites on that installation — two that use SLP and one that does not. We had tried entering the subscription info in each of the sites that use SLP but had never tried putting that info in the one that doesn’t use it…. THAT WORKED!
I think there are some really great things about your plugin. We’ve actually used it for the past seven years or so on our previous websites. But the documentation could definitely use some help. There are many links that lead to 404 errors, even from the plugin dashboard. Also, I would think what you just outlined for me should be in a document called “Multisite installations” or similar. I’m guessing we aren’t alone in this problem.
That said, I’m a fan of the plugin and I appreciate both your help and Cici’s help. I appreciate the dedication to solving this problem.
We still can’t export locations and we’re seeing several “blank locations” showing in the Locations List tab, but we’ll work on those in the proper forum posts, I assume.
KevinParticipantStill needing help on this, please… Scheduled imports from CSV apparently are not happening.
KevinParticipantWP Engine support was able to get the message I referenced above (“License for user subscription is not in a valid format”) to go away by Network-activating the plugin, rather than activating on each site individually.
However, we are now seeing a different message: “Please purchase a Store Locator Plus Premier Subscription to license your add ons for a multisite installation.” I have verified that the Premier User ID and the Premier Subscription ID are both entered correctly.

KevinParticipantOh BTW, I checked and confirmed that Cloudflare is only being used for DNS (no CDN or other features).
KevinParticipantIs there a specific feature or method that’s required during the “communication with the SLP plugin”? Or maybe an IP address that could be whitelisted, etc.?
KevinParticipantI’m okay with contacting Support for WPE, but what I was asking is if you can give me specifics to ask about. Saying that my site “cannot communicate with the SLP plugin” isn’t going to get me very far. And if I explain that I’m seeing an error (“License for user subscription is not in a valid format”) on the settings panel for a plugin, they’ll most likely tell me to talk with Support for that particular plugin.
I’m not asking you to solve a server issue, I just want to know if you can provide me with a specific problem that WPE might be able to solve. For example, if you believe the problem is related to the PHP version, I can ask them to adjust that. (I don’t really think that’s the problem, it’s just an example.)
If you don’ t know and don’t have a way for me to find out (like specific error messages to look for in logs), that’s fine. I just need to know that before I approach my server support team.
Thank you for your help.
KevinParticipantWhat exactly am I supposed to ask them?
KevinParticipantHmm… Here are links to the screenshots.

About the proxy, we use Cloudflare. Could this be causing the problem?
KevinParticipantThanks. I tried typing in the ID numbers instead of copying and pasting. Same message (“License for user subscription is not in a valid format.”)
Also, yes, I’m using the same ID on two different URLs (kentfeeds.com and blueseal.com). These are both part of a multisite installation (the with domain kentnutritiongroup.com) but the plugin is not network activated — it’s activated on each site separately.
KevinParticipantYou can see by the Plugin Environment attached that we meet or exceed all of the memory and process requirements. And we’re on a dedicated server with WP Engine, so I don’t think we’re hitting any resource limitations when trying to export 3,140 locations.

The same day I installed, I was able to do an export of the locations (3,140). But when I tried later (as explained above), it didn’t work. I didn’t update the plugin during that timeframe.
But I’m not sure that Premier is really working properly… I see the message “License for user subscripton [sic] is not in a valid format.” on General | Admin under “Premier Subscription” (see attachment). But it shows up on the Info page under Plugin Environment (see other attachment).

The plugin “Anti-Spam by CleanTalk” is conflicting with SLP. When I deactivate this plugin, searching works as expected on SLP.
I have reached out to the support for CleanTalk, but if you have additional information or thoughts, that would be great.

KevinParticipantDo you have any other suggestions? We need to get this working.
Is there some other form of support that would be quicker? We paid $500 for the subscription, but we don’t have a working solution yet.
The problem also occurs on https://kentfeeds.com/where-to-buy. I have attached the Plugin Environment info for this website.
Thank you for your help…

August 28, 2019 at 2:49 PM in reply to: Page reloads when trying to search (instead of showing results) #65474KevinParticipantThank you. This one can be closed and i’ll respond to the one on the Premier support forum.
KevinParticipantAttached is the plugin environment.
It quit working within an hour or two; I was able to export, then an hour or two later, it wouldn’t work anymore.
I believe I added the Janitor and Premier add-ons during that time. I have tried deactivating all SLP add-ons and it still doesn’t work.
(I have a more urgent problem in that users cannot search at this point. I reported that problem on both the Premier and the normal forums: https://wp.storelocatorplus.com/forums/topic/page-reloads-when-trying-to-search-instead-of-showing-results/. Any help with either of these problems is greatly appreciated!)

We don’t have to have Power just to use SLP, do we? So the locations should show as they always used to, right?
