PianiParticipant
Thanks for a very fast reply. I can confirm the issue is solved in Experience:5.5.2.
I updated the addon and first did not se any difference. But when checking the settings the field for the buttoin text had changed back to “Find locations” at update and after changed it back to the Swedish translation and saved SLP settings the issue was completley solved.
Issue can be closed.
Best regards,
Piani SwedenPianiParticipantI can confirm that the fix in 5.0.3 is solving this problem. Thanks for a fast solution.
Issue can be closed.
Store Locator Plus:5.0.3
Experience:5.0.1
Power:5.0
Premier:5.0.3
WordPress-version:5.0.3
PHP-version:7.1.26PianiParticipantTo test this I have now downgraded my WordPress to 4.9.8. (With this addon WP Downgrade)
Store Locator Plus:5.0.1
Experience:5.0.1
Power:5.0
Premier:5.0.1
WordPress-version:4.9.8
PHP-version:7.1.26But unfortunatly this did not solve this issue. Try on my SLP page https://piani.se/butiker/
Search with “Malmö” vs “Malmo” and “Göteborg” vs “Goteborg”
My first thought is that someting then must have changed in SLP 5 with the search request (regarding UTF8), but I cant confirm that the update5.0.3/downgrade4.9.8 is still lurking in the database somehow.
Please advice how to continue.
PianiParticipantI just updated to WP 5.0.3 but the problem is still there. Is there andy charset setting in SLP where I must write in UTF8 ?
My data is correct in the database so it seems SLP search question have an error or have been messed up by WordPress 5.
I still havent found the place to fix the translation for “Could not locate this address. Please try a different location.”. Would be nice to be able to change this to Swedish and add “try remove ÅÄÖ”.
PianiParticipantSidenote. I try to find this message to translate it to swedish but no luck in settings or language files. Is it missing?
“Could not locate this address. Please try a different location.”
PianiParticipantAfter some hours of hacking I found the answer to the second question;
form#searchForm LABEL, div#slpw_searchform LABEL { min-width: 50px; }
PianiParticipantFound first answer:
Go to Design, Map, and cleare the field “Map style” manually. (Delete all in that field and press save)
(I work in a Swedish install so the explanation of field might be wrong translated) 😉
The error is still there, when a user change design, that field sould be cleared/adapted.
PianiParticipantNow I can access the information 😉

PianiParticipantI hacked myself a solution 😉
I had a backup of the database and searhed for “slp”.
In table “wp_options” I found in the setting on “wp_user_roles”
s:10:\"manage_slp\";b:1;s:16:\"manage_slp_admin\";b:1;s:15:\"manage_slp_user\";
I then used the addon “User Role Editor” and added new capabilites for “manage_slp”. “manage_slp_admin” and “manage_slp_user”.
Now it seems to work and I have my menues again.
The data contines:
s:17:\"edit_shop_webhook\";b:1;s:17:\"read_shop_webhook\";b:1;s:19:\"delete_shop_webhook\";....
I do not know if these also is nessesary for SLP (Experience, Pages) to work properly? So my question now is: Can you provide a list of all needed capabilities for SLP or advice if there is an “reset” option for this issue?
PianiParticipantI probably have some language issue and thats why I havent investyigated further. I will look in to it after christmas weekends and redo the custom SLP theme file and clean up and maby it works again. Thanks for the link to the video.
PianiParticipantHi Gunnar
Im just another user so you might get another answer from Cici but here is where you need to start look.
In plugin settings on the tab server you might need a Google Key nowdays due to changes in Google mapping.
The setting to inactivate or activate geo coding is a setting in the import panel just above where you choose your import file. The default should be active but can be dismissed if you do not have a correct Google key I think.
This are my two hints. Hope it helps.
See documentation for the details.
PianiParticipantI can confirm that the CSS file problem is back when updating. I have a Swedish site and a custom SLP theme. And now I must upload my CSS file again via FTP after SLP updates.
I thought it was just some local error with old settings but it have happend the last 3 times. No big issue so I havent investigated further.

PianiParticipantTheme Virtue
I tested lots of themes and nowdays I use Theme Virtue for all my sites. It is fast, full of functions, works perfect as responsive, easy to use with SLP, easy to make tweaks without child theme direct in theme settings.

It is completley free with all these functions and there is also a premium version with even more functions.

PianiParticipantI can just add that for me the location sensor is not working in Chrome but is working in Firefox and Edge. I have not spend any time to investigate yet so I am not sure if theres a chrome issue or just a setting in my browser I have missed. I have no details in this just an observation for the moment.
PianiParticipantHi Bill
If you go into any location in edit mode you have an option to hide location for display and seach at the bottom under the location information. Set the check mark in that box and press save.
Hope this is what you are asking for and that is solves your issue.
PianiParticipantHere is my complete code that works perfect. If this still not work the we have confirmed you have a problem with your site and not SLP.
<font color="#008000"><b>Adress</b></font> <span class="storename">[storepage field="store"]</span> [storepage field="address"] [storepage field="zip"] [storepage field="city"] <br> Random text. <br> <font color="#008000"><b>Kontaktinformation</b></font> Telefon <font color="#008000"><b>[storepage field="phone"]</b></font> E-post [storepage field="email" type="mailto"]</a> Webbsida [storepage field="url" type="hyperlink"] <br> [storepage map="location"]
PianiParticipantWhen updating PHP go for PHP 7 direct. Its faster and no errors. Works like a charm with WordPress and Store Locator Plus.
I also use the syntax
[storepage map=”location”]
with ” “, and that is different from what you use. Bit I use this with no problem on my site to display the map.
PianiParticipantHi
I seen this behaviour when you use conflicting settings. As Cici says you need to check your radius settings first and also this is affected how Google maps works eg. its outside SLP functions.
A trick you can test is to center the map to a coordinate in the middle of your locations (somewhere in Kansas?) use latitude and longitude settings instead of the default country (google map setting). Try some different to get it as you want. Then play with the Zoom level settings just below (Zoomlevel + Zoom adjustment)
With this you can get it as you described. But if you also use display locations and radius at the same time this can conflict how Google will display it. So try a closer zoom first and walk out in steps til you find a nice look. Turn of some settings that can force Google in another direction than what you want.
You can use 2 diffrent browsers to make the testing faster. One for settings and one for display and use refresh view so you see your changes direct.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
PianiParticipantLog into your WP admin panel and look at Store Locator Plus option information tab. There you see your current SLP version and environent. Take a screen shot and post, or copy the text and paste in a notepad to get rid of all text format and then post here in text so we know what version you have installed. Also post what wordpress theme you are using.
To solve the issue i suggest you go into SLP theme settings and change to another SLP theme. Test some different, save and refresh browser, and see if it looks different.
If its solved you have the issue in your theme and must adjust it to display properly.
If its still not solved you can use “inspect code” in your web browser and see the exact CSS that is causing this and adjust it in the theme.
