AdrienneParticipant
I’ve posted on the public forum about themes as well, but wanted to let you know here — it turns out my client was getting a log message every time I went in to test and he was turning the SLP maps back ON (he thought it meant I was trying to eliminate the map off the page and only have the text results). Grrrr! So… there is a conflict with the Bodega theme with too many map calls, but turning of SLP maps does resolve the issue. Especially if you test while the client is at lunch. (Did I mention grrrrrr?)
AdrienneParticipantJust wanted to give an update here on the public post — apparently every time I turned off the SLP maps, the client was getting a log message about it and turning it back on! So there is a conflict with the Bodega theme, but turning off the SLP maps (and not letting your client turn it back on) does resolve the conflict.
AdrienneParticipantThey have made changes to both sites since I turned the sites over to them. Can plug-ins still cause conflicts, even when they’re all turned off? Because I definitely have tested turning off everything else and still get the weird gray box.
I’ll go back and check the SLP Maps again; I thought we’d also tested every variation on/off on that page, as well (I think this is also the tab with the Force Load javascript), but maybe we missed a combination.
Thank you for the link to the Troubleshooting. I’ve been through the forum and what must be a different troubleshooting area, which I found under Documentation. Not the same and this one looks much more on target for what I’m trying to resolve.
AdrienneParticipantI don’t really understand how Google Developer Console is causing the issues. I only meant to let people know that this theme, which DID work just fine with SLP for 1.5 years now doesn’t work with the updated SLP.
Both the theme and SLP updated at the same time, so I’m not sure where the issue lies. The theme developers have repeatedly said it’s the plug-in and proved it by creating a test page with a Google map that functions perfectly. You have said it’s the theme and, yes, SLP does definitely work with other themes. Changing themes isn’t an option, according to the client.
Unfortunately, this leaves me in the middle trying to get SLP to work again. I have opened a separate forum post on this, as well as read through the other posts related to this error, as I need a resolution. It’s been a full month that I’ve been trying to get this fixed.
In the meantime, I wanted to let you know there was an issue with a theme, even though it previously worked really well!
AdrienneParticipantMy client is having trouble on two sites that use the Bodega theme: https://themeforest.net/item/bodega-a-stylish-theme-for-small-businesses/10276763
It was working until early December, but recent upgrades to the theme and plug-in mean we get an error about multiple Google Map API requests when you enter a zip code or city location. (shows the map pins, but a grey box instead of the map). As I mentioned, this is happening on two sites. I’ve been working with the theme developers now for more than 2 weeks and they insist the issue is within the plug-in.
AdrienneParticipantMy client is having the exact same issue! They have two different sites with different hosting companies and created with a different theme from Quinola by different developers.
SLP — please look into this issue more closely. I get Google API warnings, yet the only information filled out for this is within your plug-in. (attached screen capture)
Thank you.
