We’re using SLP 3.11.2 with the following addons:
Pro Pack, Tagalong, Enhanced Search, Enhanced Results, and Enhanced Map.Wordpress is running version 4.9.5
The location management no longer stores the Latitude and Longitude coordinates. When by Google’s Geocode reesults or whether we manually add it, it isn’t stored. Any thoughts? It all was fine up until recently.
Before we get advised to upgrade, can this be fixed now first? Secondly, if we choose to upgrade, is the latest release compatible with the stored locations and existing installation?
April 25, 2018 at 10:07 AM #56520EvaParticipantAlso note, If I edit any previous locations (like a typo in the location name) that previously had Latitude and Longitude stored just fine in there, the lat/long are removed when I save and edits.
April 25, 2018 at 3:12 PM #56523CiciKeymasterSLP version 3 has not been supported for a few years now.
when you auto updated WP to 4.9.5 it made SLP break. WordPress had major changes the past few updates. I am surprised that it didn’t break before now actually. In addition, if your site was migrated and you did not obtain a Google Map APi key, Google cant geocode. ***https://docs.storelocatorplus.com/blog/google-server-key/
*** Google is getting stricter about secure sites for location sensor (must have a site that is https, and that in turn means you will need a Google API key since that is then considered a new domain) They were grandfathering sites that were pre -2016 and not requiring sites to have a Google APi key but they are now deperecating those sites when it comes to geocoding. Additionally, Google will NOT allow location sensor to work unless you are using a valid SSL, i.e are on a secure site.
P.S. if you do update SLP to 4.9.14 none of those add-ons will work as they are Legacy and no longer supported. Those were phased out over two years ago as well. The last ones that were phased out was ProPack around Dec. unfortunately I do not have a silver bullet or solution for you on version 3, it is too outdated. You can either try to downgrade WordPress (Only if you have a back-up to restore to, it is not guaranteed) or upgrade SLP and the add-ons. I tried to find orders in our system for you but only saw one for Widgets in 2015. If you do revamp your site and need something more please contact support to advise you as to what you would need to purchase that is compatible with the new software.

April 25, 2018 at 3:23 PM #56524CiciKeymasterIs this your site?
https://www.licares.org/find-help/food-locator/If so , there are fatal errors according to Google. you have mixed content. Apparently you did go from http to https. Did you add a Google APi key?
jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:4 Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://www.licares.org/find-help/food-locator/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure XMLHttpRequest endpoint ‘http://www.licares.org/wp-content/plugins/store-locator-le/images/icons/box_green_supermarket.png’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.
send @ jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:4That is the Map marker that is pointing to your old site domain. But again, as you mentioned you are having issues with updating locations because of the version of SLP and add-ons. That is something you will want to address when , if, you update.
April 26, 2018 at 9:46 AM #56527EvaParticipantThank you for the quick replies. Yes, that’s the site.
Looks like there is quite some work ahead of us. To see what I am up against, is there a way I can get temporary access to the new version’s add-ons that will allow us to: import, tag and/or categorize?
I need to scope out the time to perform this transition.
Thanks again,
FrankApril 27, 2018 at 8:34 AM #56528EvaParticipantThe client is really anxious. Any update on whether I can get temporary access to evaluate the solution?
April 27, 2018 at 1:00 PM #56530CiciKeymasterWe do not have a “Temporary” access pass that would allow you to convert and update everything. You could try out our demo but that will not help you with the data in your clients site. As far as hiring our developer, unfortunately he is totally booked for the next month with a large client.
You really need to get something that will allow you to have a staging site to test and update with. https://jetpack.com/support/staging-sites/
VaultPress / jetPack
April 27, 2018 at 3:23 PM #56532EvaParticipantOk. We have a staging environment. We’ll just have to buy the addons and proceed from there. Can you tell me which products I need to buy now that the names have changed?
We need Store locator plus with these features: Categories, Tags (tagalong?) and bulk import/export feature.
Let me know. Thanks.
April 30, 2018 at 10:08 AM #56533CiciKeymasterYou would need the Power add-on.
