I am having trouble with getting my categories to show up within the description area where the basic details for a store appear under the map, on the site. Meaning, I see the Name, Address, Phone, Description, Hours, I even managed to show a Date by importing it in the Fax field. I just need (which is major… for the category to show up).
Also, the categories are showing up when I look within the plugin settings under the location records tab (I scroll all the way to the right and see them). That tells me the categories are getting imported. I also see all the categories listed in the search field as well as within the category manager. I did notice though that in the Category manager the categories show “Unpublished.”
Any assistance would be helpful!
September 12, 2016 at 2:04 PM #43165CiciKeymasterCould you provide a screenshot of your Plugin environment? (see Posting guidelines)
I am unclear exactly what you are trying to do Do you want just categories to show up as part if the normal results along with all the other info or are you also looking for the legend?
Did you check off under Categories Manager Show Icon array?
Are you using default markers or the Category markers you assigned under the taxonomy/Category Manager panel?
As far as where the category shows up in results, which add-ons are you using? Are you using Experience Add-on or Enhanced results where you can change the results layout and appearance? You would not use Hide Unpublished unless you have categories incorporated with Pages.
September 12, 2016 at 2:31 PM #43166CPMSpectatorHere is the link to where you can see what I am talking about, click here
1. You will see below the map, the locations. I want the category that is assigned to each of those locations to show up within that information area. Attached is a screenshot as well
2. The categories are not linking to their locations. The categories were imported with their locations so not sure why they are not linked. You can look on the link I submitted and see in the search field how they don’t link to anything. I get the error “no location found”
Not sure what “Legend is” and yes I checked off “Show icon array”.
I have not done anything fancy in terms of setting up, so most everything is the default settings.
As for plugins, I purchased for 250$ the Store Locator Plus -POwer
September 14, 2016 at 10:25 AM #43192CPMSpectatorHello, Is there a reason no one is responding? I emailed and was told to write here, and I have a broken site and was looking for a new Store Locator plugin. Found yours, and gave my money openly but I just need some help to finalize the installation per our need. Thank you!
September 14, 2016 at 2:19 PM #43201CiciKeymasterI answer questions in the order they appear, oldest first.
You had not provided enough information when I first answered…Forum questions are generally answered between 0-5 days. Your first question was answered in LESS than 1 day, and you still have not provided the information I requested. What is meant by your PLUGIN Environment, a screenshot (see attached) I know what you are asking but I do not know what you are using for versions,or PHP. I have attached a screenshot of what our PLUGIN Environment looks like
I do this forum support part time, I am not on it every hour, every day. I try to answer people thoroughly , so some days I cant get to every person.
I inspected your site (you can also do this, it is easy just follow the troubleshooting guide)
Your error messages is :” youu have included the Google Maps API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors. js:93:295″
[AVIA-LOG] Fallback Video Trigger “vimeo”:
This indicates you have another Locator Plugin still on your WP site, you must delete it not just deactivate it. another Plugin also uses a Google Maps API.
it appears you have other conflicts, perhaps your theme CSS you can see a lot of Errors I cant print them all here.

If you cannot replicate or do not know how to process debugging
and
If it is urgent you can opt for next BIZ day support. If your site needs one on one Log-on support from a developer that is a paid option , you can find that also under support.
P.S. When you write in the forums each time before waiting for a response you are essentially “bumping” your topic. We answer the older forum questions first. Therefore by adding a “will anyone respond” it made your question appear to be 2 hours old. other questions that appeared to be 1-2 days old were answered first. As stated in the forum description:
” Follow the Forum Posting guidelines. They follow the same rules as the WP forum guidelines. Looking for faster forum responses? Check out the Premier Subscription. September 14, 2016 at 4:12 PM #43206CPMSpectatorMy theme is clean (well, it should be…) I use Enfold, and they have a built-in map that uses the Google API as well. I need both that feature (which I can’t uninstall) as well as your plugin because they do two different things. What I might be able to do is, use a completely different API for the one built into my theme.
I didn’t realize you just needed to know “Php” info. I keep both my server and websites updated, as current as possible.
See attachment
In the end, your plugin is working great. I just need to have categories show up as shown in the attachment on my last post, and for categories to link to their locations.Thank you,
ASeptember 14, 2016 at 5:11 PM #43209CiciKeymasterYou cannot have two Google Map API keys on the same domain querying Google at the same time. You can try to work around it but the process that loads Store Locator plus that queries through the server and to Google and back to the server is not getting through Google and you will never get the results you need nor want.
Best option is to turn off your theme’s google map API
if you cant,
you can turn off the SLP MAPS , go to General USER INTERFACE /JAVASCRIPT
there is a check box there where you can turn OFF SLP Maps, but if your theme is not using the correct API version all bets are off that this will work. Your site had a lot of other errors (as mentioned) that are related to the theme so you could still have problems.
September 14, 2016 at 5:41 PM #43210CPMSpectatorI will let the creators of Enfold know that you see all sorts of errors with their theme. They are very responsive. I think you shared above what tool you are using to see these errors (here). I will pass it along.. Overall though, I keep my site clean in that I don’t use a lot of plugins, and when I do, it comes from a company where I can trust they are not a fly by night. Anywho, I’ll talk to the theme creator to see what’s up. Everything should be good- or an easy fix at best. Thx!
I can work out the map situation. Thanks for the 411
Right now, I’m still wanting to know how to utilize categories. I can turn off my map, if that is what it will take to find an answer. I would like for my categories to link to my locations and for the category to show up in the information section, as shown in the screen shot provided in my second post.
please give me steps.. thank you!
September 15, 2016 at 6:20 PM #43221CiciKeymasterYour categories should already be linked to your locations if you see them in the back-end,( unless they were not imported correctly). In the Documentation use the keyword category
Try using a shortcode such as only_with_category = “category_slug”on a draft page , The slug can be any that you want to use to test it.
On your screenshot, I am wondering…How did you get the dates to appear under the middle section under the address of the results, did you put them in one of the contact extender fields? Or are you using CSS? Are you using event manager.? Ive not seen that before. Or is it part of your theme?
The screenshot you provided doesnt really show me what you want where., are you looking for the “words” under each result address field saying this is paert of the category “red” or , category called gospel choir, etc …That isnt the way it works.
If you see another site that is displaying the way you would like please provide the url so I can get an idea.
The categories are linked in the results as an icon and on the map as a marker if you designate that in the settings., you can add a legend for the icons but you need to add it to the locator Layout, you will not seethe locator layout if you do not have the Experience Add-on. If you want to change the Results Layout and appearance that is also part of the Experience Add-on.
I don’t know which map you are going to turn off. as long as there are two API keys active nothing will come back correctly so its hard to provide suggestions.
I have seen some other sites using Enfold that have had errors in the past.. I do not develop themes so cannot diagnose what is going on there. ( Cybersprocket Labs.com does custom themes. )

September 19, 2016 at 12:14 PM #43259CPMSpectatorHello… Sorry, I was off work for the past few days.
I see now, the categories are linked and they show up via an Icon on the map as well as the location where that category is, gets listed under the map.
I have provided another screenshot with an awful writing of the word “Category” in the area that I am talking about. I just need the category to show up within that little box area for each location. Each location has its own category that would show up.
To answer your question: “how I got the date to appear in the middle section” (where I would love the category to show up too) I traded out the “Fax” column but kept the header as Fax, with the date information. Then doing the following, I got it to show up with the label “Date”
1. Go to Plugin
2. Select Experience
3. Select Results
4. Scroll down to “Labels” and put a custom label.
This leaves me to ask, is there a way to add an additional Text column for the label section just mentioned??? That would fix my issue! I can’t get the categories to work within any of the other labels and if I could add one more row, that would be GORGEOUS!
September 21, 2016 at 4:50 PM #43293CiciKeymasterI would use any of the default plug in styles in SLP. I have viewed all of the Twenty-teen …styles, and the Boxed Foods and a few others , they all show my Category icons as my settings dictate.
. If you are looking for text only , i.e. the slug, and not the icons, you can use Tags.
Tags are text fields and you can add as many as you want, have them also appear in a drop down menu like categories. But to get the tags into the results exactly where you want it might be a challemnge, Let me think about that one….
Overall to change the layouts that is in the Experience add-on. We can try to find a work around via the reply to your support ticket. Did turning off the SLP map work for your purposes?
September 21, 2016 at 4:52 PM #43294CiciKeymasterYou have Power so you have extra fields via the Contact extender. You can change some extended data using DeBaats extended data manager, but I am not sure exactly how you are configuring it in the back end
September 21, 2016 at 5:22 PM #43295CiciKeymasterWith Power you have extra data fields Enable Contact extender under the General User Interface tab. But to have those data fields text change you might need Extended data Manager, not sure, but you can add any text in those extra data fields like you did with fax.
September 22, 2016 at 7:51 AM #43303CPMSpectatorSo I would have to spend more than the 250 I already have?
September 24, 2016 at 2:32 PM #43324CiciKeymasterI believe that the author and developer has communicated options with you via support email.
