"Could not communicate with the server" when trying to delete a location

I’m able to add, edit, and delete locations.  However, when I try to delete some locations, it fails with HTTP 500.  I get a red banner at the top of the screen that says “Could not communicate with the server,” and I get a response in the JavaScript console, “ReferenceError: json_response is not defined” in “/wp-content/plugins/store-locator-le/js/admin.min.js:1:3422.”
