I’m not an experienced developer or web designer, just trying to keep our website running, so excuse me if I don’t always know how to describe my issues. I’m including a jpeg of our plugin environment.
The problem we are having is that our site visitors are not able to sort meetings (our locations) by city, or time of day (morn/aft/eve). Day of the week is now working, as of updating to the Power add-on replacing Tagalong. Is there something I’m missing? Searching by city used to work fine. Thanks.
September 26, 2016 at 7:36 PM #43358JonathanParticipantSeptember 29, 2016 at 2:53 PM #43393CiciKeymasterJonathan,
I cant Troubleshoot this without your error logs. Please review under Troubleshooting page, use debugger tool to see what is happening. Update Power to 4.6.2 when it comes out, clear cache.
Are the “days coming from a category, or tags? or is this a widget or CSS added in your theme?
October 1, 2016 at 2:29 PM #43425JonathanParticipantThe day of the week is what we used Tagalong, and now Power to do, as tags. We use categories for meeting types with a treed selection of open or closed meeting and several other options for each. Categories and tags are working. We have used “country” to set up a choice of morning, evening, or afternoon. Our rank is a numeric value for time of day on a twenty-four hour clock. I did not set any of this up, hence the difficulty trouble-shooting. Somehow, it did used to work for people to search by a specific city and get only results from that. Does the address function normally give that functionality, or is it always just radius based on search location?
October 3, 2016 at 6:04 PM #43447CiciKeymasterHi Jonathan,
If you have the discrete drop down filters and they select a city you should get only results for that city if you have the results disable initial directory set. But you are also having them search with multiple criteria on same search form and am I correct that you have :show all at startup” set? I believe the issue may be with using “country” to substitute yet another drop down (morning evening or afternoon) that is not properly set up and probably isn’t working with the SLP v 4.6.
SLP core plugin had lines of code moved around to be efficient and in the right place and works with the newer Add-ons and WP. I do not know the exact lines but it could explain your issue if that line of code was loosely interpreted before to not “really” be country but a free form field or if someone manipulated it on your site with their own coding or CSS .
Instead of forcing a data field that is part of an address to be something other than what it was intended to be, you might want to set the various time frames to be a Parent child category Parent as “Time” for instance, you can still rank them. Or you can look at the directory list approach (although I m not sure you will get the results you are looking for)
The Experience Add-on replaces Enhanced Search, Enhanced Results, and adds Widgets with a SEPARATE drop down filter by city. This was introduced in the Experience add-on ( not available in the Widgets Legacy add-on).
I think you would have better results if you used one of the above methods. (if you would like to purchase Experience please send an email to support to request a coupon or take the hosting survey and request a coupon there for a deeper discount if your legacy add-ons are more than a year old)
to see the discrete filters, and search options included under Experience Add-on see the documentation
I am not trying to up sell you, I just don’t understand the logic of how someone got that to work that way before. It was pretty imaginative but the search is now slow and bogged down.
In addition, as a though with the Premier subscription you can have the Parent child hierarchical relationship on the same search form, thus eliminating all the cross reference with tags , categories and improvisation. There is an information tutorial video that Lance published on that very feature, even though in the tutorial he refers to legacy add-ons (Experience and Power didn’t exist at the time the feature came out for Premier ) the idea is the same. ( if you want to upgrade to Premier, send email to support to request a coupon and if you have made a recent purchase of Power or Experience the price will be deducted from the fee, see reference in the Product description.)
Otherwise I can’t think of any other suggestions. I do not work or test Legacy add-ons with the current version of SLP any longer and if there is a glitch I can’t test it.

I think there is an issue with the settings related to “Radius Behavior” as supported by SLP Experience.
When I select the option “Use only when address is entered”, it still only finds locations within reach of the radius defined. The reason might be in the hidden input for “ignore_radius” which is coded as a boolean but needs to support three options.

JanOctober 10, 2016 at 1:31 PM #43517CiciKeymasterHi deBaat
Jonathan does not have the Experience Add-on, he has Legacy add-ons. Could you please use Slack to contact Lance if you know of a specific issue. I believe he is back on line, but playing catch up from having evacuated for the Hurricane. I am still out of state. I know there was a change to initial radius but that was fixed in SLP 4.6.3 I believe
Thanks
October 25, 2016 at 5:28 PM #43770NathanParticipantHi Guys, I am working on this bug now. I have the latest copy of each plugin and have checked all of the posts above. The City filter is still not working on the website: http://www.vancouveraa.ca/find-a-meeting-2/ All of the meetings are appearing when we only want one city to appear.
I have the following plugins activated with regards to Store Locator Plus (Please note i have tried disabling all the other plugins to fix the issue)
Store Locator Plus – Power
Store Locator Plus : Enhanced Map
Store Locator Plus : Enhanced Results
Store Locator Plus :: Enhanced Search
Store Locator Plus Janitor
I notice when i disable the plugin “Store Locator Plus – Power” the city filter starts to work again. However, i need the plugin “Store Locator Plus – Power” so i am able to display the day of week and type of meeting fields.
Can you please advise how to fix this issue which is caused by the enhanced search and power plugin?
October 25, 2016 at 5:43 PM #43771NathanParticipantTo add some additional clarity: As soon as the power plugin is enabled not only does the city filter not work but neither does the <span style=”background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #444444; font-family: Helvetica, ‘Open Sans’, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: right; white-space: nowrap;”>Morning/Afternoon/Evening Selector. It appears that the Power plugin does not play nicely with the enhanced search plugin </span>
Please advise how to proceed.
October 26, 2016 at 1:45 PM #43783CiciKeymasterHi Nathan, thank you for that insight.
Power plug-in replaces Tagalong ProPack , Contact extender , directory builder as well as Pages and does not have a specific relationship with the Enhanced products but a couple of issues may have had an inadvertent effect on your site construct. Jonathan posted the screenshot of plugin environment and at the time you were using SLP 4.6.2. and Power 4.6.1 There was a bug in SLP 4.6.2 and there was also an issue discovered in Power 4.6.1 that had to do with the directory listing by city which was fixed in 4.6.3 , I see that you updated SLP to 4.6.3. We are now on SLP 4.6.4 and Power 4.6.4. Can you update those add-ons and see if that fixes your issue.
If after updating you are still having a problem let me know and I will ask the developer to look at it.
Also as I mentioned to Jonathan, if you have all those enhanced products that are now legacy, you are eligible to get a discount off the Experience add-on which replaces them and which also has a new WIDGETS that includes drop down by city. You may find it useful. You also need to have Experience add-on if you have Power and if you want to use CSS.
If you are interested in doing that send a request to support@storelocatorplus.com.
You can get credit to be applied to either , and/or the Experience Add-on or Premier.
You would be eligible for a deeper discount off the Premier set-up fee since you already have Power and Enhanced products. Premier provides the ability to utilize the Parent /child hierarchy which I could see being useful for what you are trying to accomplish and which gives you all the add-ons as well as Premier forum access.
You might want to look in documentation or under Product description before purchasing
October 26, 2016 at 4:27 PM #43789NathanParticipantHi Ciri,
At this point, I really do not want to upgrade my plugins as i don;t have much of a budget for it. I have upgraded to the Store Locator Plus plugin to the latest version but have not found an update for the Store Locator Power plugin. Do i need to log into your website to get the latest version of your plugin.
The update which i have currently completed has not yet fixed the issue. Please let me know how to update the Power Plugin and then i will try again and let you know how it works.
October 27, 2016 at 2:50 PM #43799CiciKeymasterFrom your WP Plugin try deactivating Power first. You should then see Power update notice. If not , yes you can download it from your SLP account.
October 28, 2016 at 2:20 PM #43812NathanParticipantHi Cici, I have upgraded to the latest version of the power plugin and am still having an issue with the integration of this plugin and the legacy enhanced search plugin. The City drop down selector does not influence the serach results when the power plugin is active.
Can you please have your developer look at this in a timely matter.
October 31, 2016 at 12:44 PM #43840CiciKeymasterIt is on his radar, but Enhanced Search has nothing to do with Power and you have a unique situation. I do not think that Power is intended to work with legacy add-ons in the way that was described above. Power DOES disable Tagalong and ProPack and if I recall from what Jonathan stated , you were using a combination of tags and categorizes for days of week and times. So you have created some type of hierarchy where there were multiple drop-down choices, by city, by day, by time using tags and categories? I do not know if there are some tricks or special rules that you can write perhaps instead of utilizing the parent /child relationship with the taxonomy hierarchy utilized by categories. I am not sure that Lance will be able to do much if that is the case as it is not a normal use of the way the add-ons work.
